American influencers in London think fish and chips is mackerel and crisps
Brits are losing their minds over a TikTok showing two American influencers trying out "London snacks" – with one very unique choice. In a viral clip that's racked up over half a million views, couple Dani and TBell (@tanddtv) showcase the range of snacks including Walkers crisps, Starburst, a vegan KitKat, Skittles – and tinned mackerel. "Not looking forward to this," Dani tells viewers while holding up the tinned fish. "Oh my god, that looks appetising to you?" she says as they peel back the lid. "Yeah, it looks protein-packed," her partner TBell responds before giving it the taste test. TBell appears to thoroughly enjoy the "interesting" choice by rounding off with a cheese and onion crisp for good measure. "This is what you call fish and chips," he jokes while enjoying the mackerel and crisp combination. Meanwhile, Dani wasn't so much a fan and looked repulsed. "I don't like it," she says. "I'm going to be sick." It didn't take long for British viewers to spam the TikTok with comments, with one saying: "Calling mackerel and crisps fish and chips is just offensive" "Nobody in London eats mackerel for a snack," another highlighted, while a third reiterated: "This is not what we mean by fish and chips." @tanddtv this one was interesting👀🤮 #couplesthings #couplestravel #london #love #snacks #couplesmukbang #relationshipgoals The comments continued to roll in, with confusion around the fishy snack. "I don’t think any one in England eats tinned mackerel," one TikToker wrote. "Ya’ll really said let’s try fish and chips and bought canned mackerel and chips," another joked. Model has Maui fundraiser shut down for offering to sell spicy images to donors
Model has Maui fundraiser shut down for offering to sell spicy images to donors
GoFundMe has deleted an OnlyFans model's campaign after she offered nudes to anyone who donated $10 to Maui wildfire victims. Mariah Casillas, also known as 'Lavaxgrll' had created a GoFundMe to help raise money for those in Maui who have been affected by the wildfires that have tragically claimed up to 100 lives so far. In order to raise as much money as possible, Casillas offered to send nudes to anyone who proved that they had donated $10 or more to her campaign. It seemed to be working as Casillas managed to raise over $6,000 in just a couple of days, but GoFundMe removed the campaign. Meaning that all the money raised went with it, too. In response to GoFundMe's move, Casillas took to social media to reassure fans that she was not going to let it stop her from raising money. "GoFundMe took down my account but that isn't going to stop me from doing what I can to help the people of Maui," she wrote. "I'll be making a list of nonprofits to donate towards instead, you can still send me your screenshots!" It seems that GoFundMe took down Casillas' campaign as it violated its services that state GoFundMe can't be used to raise funds if they involve, "offensive, graphic, perverse or sensitive or sexual content." In order to keep raising money, Casillas has moved her fundraiser to OnlyFans telling subscribers to "drop your donations on my pinned post and let's get to work." On Wednesday a GoFundMe spokesperson told FOX Business that its platform had raised over $30 million for the communities needing support in the aftermath of the wildfires. Mysterious arrow-shaped UFO spotted rotating in air leaves experts 'concerned'
A mysterious arrow-shaped UFO has been spotted rotating in the air. The authorities have vowed to analyse them. The images were taken near the small town of El Escorial, Chubut, Argentina. Photos show the suspected alien craft hovering above the Patagonian plains in both horizontal and vertical positions. Local journalist Calaverita Mateos shared the images on social media with the message: “The best photos of a UFO in Chubut.” He added: “Photos sent to me by a resident in the area who asked to remain anonymous.” In the comments section, Mateos said his friend is a “field researcher” in the area who was concerned about having his name exposed. The authorities said they will gather a team of experts to analyse them and provide an update at a later date. Many locals were impressed, with one joking: “They are among us.” Another said: “Why does the cameraperson want to remain anonymous? “The photos are incredible, if they are real. I find it strange that he doesn't want to speak publicly.” Miguel wrote: “This has to be seen by the Aerospace Verification Centre to corroborate their authenticity. “At first glance, they’re very impressive. There are other organisations that can study these.” Marcela pleaded: “Take me.” Jaimo joked: “It’s the Millennium Falcon.” However, Carlos commented: “They’re fake.” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Marriage proposal at Super Mario World goes viral for Luigi's reaction
A marriage proposal at Super Nintendo World has gone viral online due to the character Luigi’s hilarious reaction. Fans of the Nintendo games have been able to enjoy the Super Nintendo World theme park at Universal Studios in California since it opened in early 2023. For one superfan, he decided it was the perfect time and place for a wedding proposal and the clip was shared online after being caught on camera. In the video, a man and woman could be seen standing between the dressed-up characters of Mario and Luigi. He got on one knee and opened a ring box to pop the question. While the character of Mario displayed the appropriate level of excitement by mimicking a look of excitement and shock, the Luigi character simply stood there with his hands on his hips. When Luigi noticed what was going on, his reaction was still fairly muted and it has left viewers in hysterics. @bellabelli260 #nintendoworld #supermario #proposal #universalstudioshollywood #engagement #happilyeverafter #engagementring #supernintendoworld #mariobros #california #hollywood #supernintendoworldhollywood #supernintendo #peaches #mario #luigi #engaged One person commented: “Luigi: I do not see it.” “Luigi did NOT care,” said another. Someone else wrote: “Luigi not noticing till later is cannon.” Another commented: “LUIGI IS SENDING ME.” Others commented on the sound effects in the background that come from the Super Mario Bros video game. One TikToker argued: “Can you imagine being proposed to and in the background Mario is just blabbing about 'its Mario time!’” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Woman scammed into thinking she was dating a Stranger Things actor
Woman scammed into thinking she was dating a Stranger Things actor
A woman was scammed into thinking she was dating an actor from Stranger Things and ended up divorcing her husband and sending money to the scammer. The ordeal suffered by McKala, a single mother from Kentucky, was shared on the YouTube show Catfished, where it was revealed she believed she was in a secret online relationship with Australian actor Dacre Montgomery, who plays Billy Hargrove in the Netflix series. Over a year, McKala shared online messages with a person she sincerely believed was Montgomery, despite never having seen or even spoken to him on the phone. McKala, an amateur actress and filmmaker, wanted so desperately to be with “Montgomery” that she filed for divorce from her husband and began sending him gift cards worth thousands of dollars. When she began to question how genuine their relationship was, McKala sought the help of the show Catfished. She explained how she had separated from her “very toxic” husband and joined an online creatives group, where she believes she met and “hit it off” with a user who later claimed to be Montgomery. McKala said: “I’m suspicious from the get-go, until he starts doing things that make me believe he is who he is.” In real life, Montgomery has been in a relationship with the model Liv Pollock since 2017, but McKala claimed the person she was talking to claimed the couple were unhappy and having issues. “He was venting to me after a few months about his partner, saying she is very controlling of him. He doesn’t get to do the things he wants to do. She’s always there. She’s always got to supervise,” she explained, “I kind of empathise with that because my ex-husband was that way.” After exchanging messages online for months, “Montgomery” asked McKala to be his girlfriend, despite the real Montgomery still being with his girlfriend. Victim Divorces Husband For Stranger Things Romance Scammer! www.youtube.com McKala was told that the pair were actually separated, but just keeping up appearances. She was further convinced by their lack of visibility on each other’s social media. She said: “He wasn’t posting about her. She wasn’t posting about him. The only thing that I have seen in the last two years...was a thing where she was posting about their five-year anniversary.” McKala dismissed the Catfished team’s concerns that she hadn’t spoken to him on the phone, arguing that his girlfriend was controlling and always “glued at his hip”. He sent her poetry, told her to watch Stranger Things and gave her an ultimatum between her husband and him. “Before I knew it, it was turning into $100, $200 gift cards,” she explained and estimated that in total she sent him around $10,000 worth. The Catfished team broke the news to McKala that there was no evidence the actor and his girlfriend were broken up, he made $150,000 per episode of Stranger Things and did not need gift cards. Investigations showed the cheque he had sent her was false and taken from the internet and even the lasagna he allegedly made was actually a picture taken from a Martha Stewart recipe. McKala was left heartbroken by the discovery but admitted that she was vulnerable to being taken advantage of by a scammer in this way. She explained: “If you’re someone like me, you’re afraid of abandonment and you’re a real big people pleaser and you’re very co-dependent... These scammers, they just kind of come in and they leech off that.” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Dr. Miles Stones’ 'Fire and Fury' book sparks alarm for being published 2 days after Maui fires began
Dr. Miles Stones’ 'Fire and Fury' book sparks alarm for being published 2 days after Maui fires began
Since the wildfires started in Hawaii earlier this month, nonsense conspiracy theories about 'space lasers' have been rampant on social media but one of the weirdest phenomena related to the tragedy is currently happening on Amazon. A book called Fire and Fury: The Story of the 2023 Maui Fire and its Implications for Climate Change by Dr Miles Stones has attracted a lot of interest in recent days thanks to it largely being published just two days after the fires began on August 8th. The book, which comes in at a whopping 44 pages, is currently listed as a 'bestseller' in the Natural Disasters section of Amazon and is available on Kindle and in paperback editions. The book's description reads as follows: Fire and Fury: "The Story of the Maui Fire and its Implications for Climate Change is a gripping and eye-opening account of one of the most devastating wildfires in Hawaii's history, and how it reveals the urgent need to address the global climate crisis. "The book chronicles the events of August 8-11, 2023, when a massive fire swept across the island of Maui, fueled by drought, heat, and hurricane winds. The book describes the harrowing experiences of the people who lived through the fire, as well as the heroic efforts of the firefighters and rescuers who battled the flames. "The book also examines the causes and consequences of the fire, both locally and globally, and how it exposes the vulnerability of our society and our planet to the impacts of climate change. The book draws on scientific research, eyewitness accounts, official reports, and media coverage to provide a comprehensive and compelling narrative of the Maui fire and its implications for climate change. "The book also offers practical solutions and recommendations on how we can prevent and prepare for future wildfires, and how we can reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to a changing climate. Fire and Fury: The Story of the Maui Fire and its Implications for Climate Change is a must-read for anyone who cares about the environment, the future of humanity, and the fate of our beautiful planet." In addition to this seemingly vague and hurried analysis of this awful event which has claimed the lives of 106 people, there is next to no information about Dr. Miles Stones on the internet. The website GoodReads does have an author of the same name listed who has written biographies on individuals such as Hunter Biden and former US defense official Michael G. Vickers. Given that the book appears to have been turned around in lightning-fast fashion and that there isn't any info about Stones online it has naturally attracted the interest of a lot of people who are skeptical about the true agenda of the item. Fitness YouTuber slams Prime as Logan Paul's 'most profitable scam yet'
Fitness YouTuber slams Prime as Logan Paul's 'most profitable scam yet'
A fitness expert has slammed Logan Paul and KSI's Prime energy drink and called it their “most profitable scam yet”. James Smith looked at the science behind hydration and claimed that despite the fact the drink is the official hydration sponsor of UFC, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Barcelona, Paul and KSI “don’t even understand” the concept of hydration. Explaining how rehydration works, Smith said that water and sodium are key to tackling dehydration. He said: “If you’re partaking in a sport [where you] lose loads of water and loads of salt [and you] replenish with just water, over time you’re going to create a negative balance of sodium.” While Smith explained that replenishing electrolytes sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium, it was sodium that is the most important to replenish. He then compared Prime’s offering to other leading brands, showing that Prime only has 5mg of sodium. It did however have an impressive 700mg of potassium. Logan Paul's Most Profitable Scam Yet www.youtube.com Powerade, meanwhile, contains 168mg of sodium and 200mg of potassium. “So understanding that when we sweat we lose mostly water and salt, which one of these two, [Prime of Powerade], do you think is going to be superior when it comes to replenishing the sodium that you’re losing?” he asked. It comes after Paul and KSI’s Prime defended the levels of caffeine in its beverages after facing a backlash. Health experts previously called on the US Food and Drug Administration to investigate the energy drink company. A 12 oz can of Prime, which was founded by YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI, contains 200mg of caffeine, equivalent to about half a dozen Coke cans or nearly two Red Bulls. 'Alien' seen walking around on New York subway in creepy viral footage
'Alien' seen walking around on New York subway in creepy viral footage
Footage of an “alien” walking around New York City and even riding the subway has gone viral, but there’s actually a reasonable explanation. Over recent years, the existence of aliens has become a legitimate topic of conversation, particularly after a UFO whistleblower claimed institutions are covering up key proof. But, an alien walking around the middle of one of the busiest cities on Earth probably isn’t the “proof” most people were expecting to see. Clips of an alien in NYC have been going viral across social media with people spotting it in multiple locations, using only hand gestures to interact with the public. The “alien” was a blue-green colour with a large bald head, misshapen ears and black eyes, resembling the classic look of what people picture when they think of an alien. It wore a baggy t-shirt that had a picture of planet Earth on it, along with the words, “Love your mother”. Some hilarious theories began flying around, with some suggesting that the alien’s presence was intentional to prepare society for what is to come. On TikTok, one person wrote: “They are preparing us for reality.” Another urged: “Stay awake.” But, the actual explanation was much more simple as it was revealed the alien wandering NYC was part of a promotion for the new movie Jules, released on 11 August. The sci-fi comedy film follows 79-year-old Milton Robinson and how his life is changed when a UFO crash lands in his garden in rural Pennsylvania. Jules Trailer #1 (2023) www.youtube.com While the film’s production team hasn’t officially confirmed it was a stunt to promote the movie, it looks identical to the alien, Jules, in the film, so people seem to think it’s a pretty safe assumption. Who is Ed Mylett? The man who claims he has '21 days a week'
A man has left the internet baffled after claiming he has 21 days in a week and people are confused. Ed Mylett has gone viral for a second time after a clip from a podcast appearance on Impact Theory with YouTuber Tom Bilyeu went viral on X (formerly known as Twitter). The clip encapsulates hustle and grind culture perfectly, as Mylett claimed he had more days in the week than everyone else and explained his bizarre logic. He explained: “My day is 6am to noon, and I’m not crazy. You’re crazy for thinking it takes 24 hours, just like some dude in a cave did 300 years ago.” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter While his maths and history might be questionable, Mylett continued, explaining, “My second day starts at noon and goes til 6pm”. He explained that 6pm until midnight counts as his “third day”, meaning over the course of a normal 7-day week, he actually experiences 21 days. It’s fair to say that users on X (formerly known as Twitter) weren’t quite as convinced by Mylett’s logic. “My favourite part of this clip is that he thinks the 'caveman era' was 300 years ago,” wrote one person. Another argued: “You can take the lad out of the afters but you can't take the afters out the lad. “All these former beak heeds turned entrepreneurs have swapped chatting s**t at 5am in some randoms kitchen for a podcast studio.” Who is Ed Mylett? Mylett is a YouTuber, podcaster and entrepreneur. H enjoined the World Financial Group (WFG), a financial planning company, in 1992. He has since used social media to grow a following by speaking about his career, and giving life lessons and advice to aspiring entrepreneurs. Have your say in our news democracy.
