Terrifying moment Drew Barrymore's 'stalker' climbs on stage as she's speaking
Cameras have caught the moment a 'stalker' of Drew Barrymore rushed onto the stage at a talk she was doing and confronted her. "Oh my god, yes? Hi!," a very confused Barrymore says as the man approached. The man, who referred to himself as 'Chad Michael Busto' responded: "You know who I am. I need to see you at some point while you're in New York." Renee Rapp, who was presenting alongside her, quickly escorted Barrymore off the stage, after getting visibly concerned for her safety, as security tackled the stranger. Billie Eilish praised by fans for flying economy
Billie Eilish may be one of the world's biggest artists, but that doesn't stop her from doing regular things such as flying economy class like the rest of us. In a viral post that's racked up almost 900,000 views, TikTok user William Bossanova shares a snap of the star from the seats behind the star on the Brussels Airlines flight. Her blue-starred hat matches the one she was wearing in an upload to her Instagram Story seemingly sitting on a flight with overhead lockers in view. "Pov: you're in a plane with Billie (Still can't believe wtf just happened)," the caption read. It didn't take long for the video to be flooded by stunned fans, with one writing: "I would js go to the bathroom in the front every 5 minutes to look at her." The TikTok user responded by claiming he did try, but staff told him he could "only use the bathroom at the back." @williambossanova Pov: you're in a plane with Billie (Still cant believe wtf just happened) #billieeilish #billie #finneas #billieelishfan #billieeilishedits #billieeilishconcert #billieeilishszigetfestival #billieeilishpukkelpop #maggiebaird #patrickoconnell " I actually love that she has the money for a private jet but doesn’t do," another said, while a third penned: "Guys, she doesn't fly that much on private jets bc she's actually doing something for our environment lmao." It comes after one passenger got a taste of the private jet lifestyle, after being the only passenger on her flight to Jersey. Hannah Maden-Adams, 38, was shocked to learn she and the airline staff were the only people on board her flight. "The pilots were pointing out various locations and recommend destinations for holidays", she said. “The staff and pilot said they had never flown just one passenger on one of their planes before." Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato ditching Scooter Braun arrives on two big Taylor Swift anniversaries
In a pretty spooky case of coincidence, news that Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato have both reportedly parted ways with their manager Scooter Braun comes almost four years to the day after Taylor Swift confirmed she planned to re-record her first five albums - from her debut to 1989. On 22 August 2019, the 'Cruel Summer' singer told Good Morning America she was “very excited” to be able to release her own versions of her back catalogue, after Braun bought her former record label Big Machine Label Group (BMLG) and, with that, the rights to the masters of her earlier work. She said: “It’s something I’m very excited about doing because my contract says that starting November 2020 – so next year – I can record albums one through five all over again.” When that month came around, Swift alleged Braun sold the master rights and “100 per cent of my music, videos, and album art” to a private equity firm known as Shamrock Holdings. The musician is now with Universal Music Group’s Republic Records, and is continuing to re-release past albums with the additional stamp of ‘Taylor’s Version’ on them. We’ve already had revamped versions of Fearless, Red and Speak Now, with Swift recently announcing that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) would be coming later this year. Although she told Good Morning America she would re-record her first five albums, Swift eventually had six records under her belt when she parted ways with BMLG, meaning fans can still expect Reputation and her debut, Taylor Swift, to be re-released. And Swift hasn’t held back from making her feelings known about Braun in recent years, with the music video from her track “The Man” – from her seventh album, Lover – showing Swift in prosthetics as a male protagonist urinating against a wall featuring the names of past albums graffitied onto it. There’s a sign banning the riding of scooters (wink, wink), and another which reads: “Missing: if found return to Taylor Swift.” Ouch. Now things haven’t been much better for Braun, as on Monday 21 August – close to four years since that Good Morning America interview - it was reported both Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato have split from the music manager, and last week there were rumours Justin Bieber would do the same. Although representatives for Lovato, Grande and Braun all declined to comment when approached by Billboard, the outlet cites sources who have confirmed the artists’ dramatic decision. Of course, Swifties have been absolutely relishing what they consider to be an incredible case of “karma” – conveniently, the name of a song by Swift herself: And as if the anniversary of Swift’s Good Morning America interview matching the ditching of Braun by Lovato and Grande wasn’t enough, one Swiftie pointed out that the star announced the release of her album Reputation – famed for its rumoured digs at the likes of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian – on 23 August 2017. This is Taylor Swift’s world and we’re all just living in it. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Hank Green flooded with messages as he confirms he is in ‘complete remission’ from cancer
Popular content creator Hank Green – one half of the iconic YouTube duo ‘Vlogbrothers’ with sibling and author John Green – has revealed he is in “complete remission” from cancer following chemotherapy and radiation therapy. The SciShow presenter shared his diagnosis of Hodgkin’s lymphoma – a cancer affecting the lymphatic system, which includes the lymph nodes – in a video from May and said he was “not fine and it sucks”, but stressed the lymphoma is “super treatable”. Now, in an update posted to Twitter/X on Monday, Green confirmed he had a follow-up with his oncologist following his treatment which led to him being told he is “officially in complete remission”. He added: “Chance of relapse is low, but still very present. I have a scan in three months to make sure everything’s still good. “Then we keep a close eye on it for two years and then a medium eye on it for the rest of my life. They don’t call it ‘cure’ until five years from today. “And then there’s dealing with post-treatment health, which is certainly not perfect. You don’t get out unscathed! “Still working through some pain, some fatigue, migraines… anxiety, of course. But honestly… holy s***, y’all. Feels good.” And Green was immediately met with countless messages celebrating the “awesome” news: In follow-up tweets, Green said he is “utterly grateful” to “all of the people who have been part of the scientific and medical processes that made this possible” and that he is “so sad that these treatments … remain unavailable to so many people”. He continued: “I wish I could get behind the ‘I beat cancer’ frame. I did things, other people did things, and I mostly just got lucky (aside from the getting cancer part). “But most importantly, it’s more like ‘risk of relapse fades over the next few years, but you never know!” Green regularly updated fans during his treatment, taking a particular interest in the fact that “folks on chemo p*** out cancer”. Uri Geller predicts aliens will arrive on Earth ‘within 10 to 20 years’ to prevent nuclear war
Uri Geller has claimed that aliens will arrive on Earth “within 10 to 20 years”. Geller, the self-proclaimed psychic, has predicted that extra terrestrial beings are setting their sights on our planet – and he thinks NASA needs to make preparations right away. “I think in the coming 10 to 20 years there will be a landing,” Geller told The Mirror. He doesn’t think they’re here to cause us harm, though. “It won’t be an invasion. Wherever they come from - I think maybe two or three species out there - if they wanted to destroy us they could." Geller even thinks the aliens are going to arrive and give us a few tips on how to keep world peace. He went on to say: “They’re concerned we might press the red buttons and nuclear bombs will fly. They won’t want our planet destroyed.” Geller added: “There will be a Steven Spielberg type landing. I hope they land somewhere like the White House lawn or the Eiffel Tower. “It will be the biggest revelation in history - religiously, archaeologically, everything. It will be like finding the Arc of the Covenant.” So there you go – if Geller is right, there’s a whole lot to look out for over the next two decades. It’s hardly the first time Geller has spoken about aliens. In fact, he believed that UFOs were out in force on the day of the Queen’s funeral last year. Geller previously told his Twitter followers to “watch the skies over London” on Monday, when the late monarch was laid to rest after her death aged 96. In the post, which was accompanied by a video message, the entertainer wrote: “The Queen’s funeral. I believe ‘they’ will want to pay their respects too! “Three months ago, a UFO flew over Her Majesty’s jubilee celebrations [and] this may happen again. Send me what you have seen or caught on camera! God Bless The Queen!” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Taylor Swift fans called 'disgusting' for swarming her at a restaurant
Hundreds of Taylor Swift fans congregated outside a New Jersey restaurant on Friday (18 August) in hopes of catching a glimpse of their idol. The 'Bad Blood' singer was attending Jack Antonoff’s rehearsal dinner ahead of his wedding on Saturday to Margaret Qualley. As soon as the news hit the area, fans took no time in heading over to wait outside. Footage has since gone viral across social media, with many people calling the behaviour "weird" and likening fans to "stalkers". In one clip, TikTok user Tori (@toris.intel) shared paparazzi footage of the star leaving the Long Beach restaurant. "This is not the look of a woman who is happy to see y’all," she told viewers. "The audacity metre is beyond." Tori went on to say Swift looked "scared" and called the scenes disrespectful to the singer, Antonoff and "everybody at that event." "To put her and him [Antonoff] and their friendship in this situation is really wild to me," she said. "I speak about celebrities and pop culture every day on this account, but this is just – I can't even wrap my head around the fact of 'I'm going to go and sit outside of the venue of a private event for hours waiting for Taylor Swift," Tori continued. @toris.intel #greenscreen #popculture #entertainmentnews #swifttok #erastour #celebrity #celebs #parasocial #taylorswift #taylorswifttok taylor swift wedding event new jersey Fellow TikTokers turned to the comments to share their takes, with one calling it "so wildly creepy and psychotic". Another said, "This is gross. They're going to make her go away." Meanwhile a third Swiftie wrote: "This is barbaric behavior. I’ve been a Taylor fan for almost 14 years now and we have ALWAYS given Taylor her privacy and space." Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy.
