Pete Davidson has marked his return to SNL with a rather cheeky reference to Kanye West in his new skit. The comedian parodied 'I'm Just Ken' from the Barbie movie, where he addressed his public dating life, including his fling with Kim Kardashian. "I'm just Pete, looking like a meth head on the street", he begins. He then goes on to sing: "People online still call me Skete because of a guy's name I can't say legally", as a photo of West flashes up, referencing the nickname the rapper gave him when word of his relationship with Kim got out. Listening to the Joe Rogan podcast is a major turn off for women, study finds
Findings of a study have revealed that the majority of women think it’s a turn-off if their significant other listens to Joe Rogan’s podcast. Rogan has come under fire in the past after making some controversial comments on his Spotify podcast The Joe Rogan Experience. The outspoken host has previously been accused of spreading misinformation about the Covid-19 vaccine and making anti-semitic comments. Despite this, Rogan’s podcast is extremely popular with reports suggesting that each episode draws an audience of 11 million. But, for his fans, it’s not all good news as a study has found that the majority of women think it’s a “'turn-off” if their partner is a listener. More than 1,000 people between the ages of 18 to 34 were interviewed by Change Research, who found that 55 per cent of women felt it was a big “red flag” if someone listens to The Joe Rogan Experience. In contrast, 35 per cent of men found it a red flag if their partner likes to listen to the podcaster. The interview also asked participants about other red flags when it comes to relationships, throwing up some interesting gender-based trends. The study found more than 75 per cent of women thought it would be a dealbreaker if their partner was a MAGA supporter. On the other hand, for men it was 59 per cent. It was also revealed that a partner not having a hobby was a problem for women more than it was for men – 66 per cent, compared with 60 per cent. In fact, for men, the biggest red flag for them was if their partner said they were a “communist”, with 64 per cent seeing that as an issue. Majority of women ‘consider listening to Joe Rogan podcast a red flag’, study finds
The majority of women would consider their partner listening to the Joe Rogan podcast a turn off, according to a new study. It’s become the most popular podcast in the world, with around 11 million listeners per episode, but clearly not everyone is a fan. A new study has been conducted by Change Research involving 1000 people aged between 18-34. They were all asked about their dating preferences, as well as political ideologies and other personality traits. When asked about potential turn offs in prospective partners, 55 per cent of the women involved said that their partner listening to the Joe Rogan Experience podcast would be a “red flag”. Fewer men said the same thing, with only 35 per cent saying that their partner listening to the podcast would be a turn off. The other popular red flags among women included their partner not having any hobbies, with 66 per cent saying it was an undesirable trait. The study also showed that 53 per cent of women said it was a reg flag if their partner refused to watch the Barbie movie. Rogan, incidentally, is one guy who personally can’t understand the backlash to the Barbie movie at all. He surprised haters of the film by revealing he actually really enjoyed it earlier this year. Finally, a total of 41 per cent of men said that they’d be turned off if their partner was into astrology as part of the study. The 2023 MTV VMAs saw huge wins for Taylor Swift, success for the afrobeats genre - and as usual, plenty of hilarious celebrity moments. Meanwhile, Selena Gomez made her feelings about Chris Brown being nominated known, pulling a disgusted face as his name was read out thinking the cameras weren't on her. Gold. Metallica react after dog sneaks away from home to attend their LA concert
Metallica earned themselves an extra four-legged fan after a dog that ran away from home ended up at the metal band's concert in Los Angeles. The doggo named Storm not only managed to sneak out of her home, but she even managed to take a seat at the So-Fi stadium show on August 27. In a tweet sharing the hound's humorous adventure, Metallica's official Twitter noted how "this dog did sure did have her day..." "You might have heard we had a four-legged fan join us for #M72LA! Despite reports to the contrary, our friend Storm snuck out of her home adjacent to @SoFiStadium and made her way to the gig all by herself." While Storm appeared to enjoy the show, she was safely reunited with her actual family the following day. "She had a great time listening to her favorite songs, including “Barx Æterna,” “Master of Puppies,” and “The Mailman That Never Comes.” Though the band doesn't recommend their M72 World Tour for dogs. “And in case you were wondering, no. You definitely shouldn’t bring your furry friends to the M72 World Tour. But this dog sure did have her day.” Fans of the band shared their amusement at this story Meanwhile, Storm was the only concertgoer to gain attention as actor Jason Momoa was spotted in the mosh pit from clips that have circulated on social media taken at the Metallica concert in California on August 25. “These f****** opened with ‘Whilplash’!” the Game Of Thrones and Aquaman star can be heard saying as the band began their set and Momoa joined the pit area. Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas' has already re-entered the charts
It may only be September with 112 days to go until Christmas – but it seems Mariah Carey is defrosting early, with 'All I Want For Christmas' sneaking its way into the charts. A fan page on X/Twitter highlighted some stats that claimed the hit single received 316,000 Spotify streams on 1 September – a 75 per cent increase "compared to the same day in 2022". Carey soon responded to the tweet, passionately writing: "Not yet!!!!" She continued: "I'll allow it for my Filipino lambs though! (I don't make the rules!) The star was referencing the Philippines tradition in which Christmas starts as soon as the year hits the 'BER' months (September, October, November, and December.) "Every year, from the 1st of September, decorations will be put up around the country and the festivities will begin. You'll even start to hear Christmas songs in all the malls, restaurants and on the radio," Travel Continuously explained. Eager fans flooded Carey's tweet, with one writing: "This is my alarm song every day of the year. Say something!" "She’s the mother of Christmas," another added, while a third shared: "We haven't even celebrated HALLOWEEN yet, people!! Slow down before we get to Mariah Carey Season." The 1994 single may be a hit solely for Christmas, but it is estimated to bring in around $2.5million every single yea $2.5million every single year. In fact, by 2016 it's thought that Mariah Carey had earned around $60million from the song - a figure set to be even higher now. ExorSwift: Taylor Swift fans denied Exorcist double bill following changes
The Exorcist: Believer was originally meant to be released in cinemas on October 13, but this has since been changed after Taylor Swift announced her Eras Tour concert film will also be on the same Friday. We almost had Exorswift - an autumn sequel to our Barbenheimer summer but alas, the horror movie that is a highly anticipated direct sequel to the 1973 original classic by William Friedkin will now be out in cinemas a week earlier on October 6. This change comes in order to avoid having the same release as Swift's film which she recently announced on Instagram. "The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far," the singer wrote on social media and also added that "Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing [are] encouraged." In response, The Exorcist: Believer producer Jason Blum shared news of the release date change, with a nod to Swift's song 'Look What You Made Me Do," from the 2017 album reputation. "Look what you made me do. The Exorcist: Believer moves to 10/6/23. #TaylorWins," he tweeted. It appears that The Exorcist: Believer release date change will happen in North America, not in the UK as only the North American release date has been confirmed for Swift's concert film. The Exorcist: Believer stars Leslie Odom Jr, Ann Dowd, Jennifer Nettles, Lidya Jewett, Olivia Marcum, Okwui Okpokwasili and Raphael Sbarge. Fans of the original film will also be excited to learn that Ellen Burstyn reprises her role as Chris MacNeil from the original film. The Exorcist: Believer is out in cinemas on October 6 in North America, and October 13 in the UK, while Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film is out on October 13 in North America, dates for other countries have not yet been announced. Elsewhere, Taylor Swift referenced a popular fan phrase to promote new movie. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy.
