Movie fans notice hilarious major blunder in The Abyss
Movie fans have just realised there's a huge blunder in James Cameron's The Abyss, and once you see it, you can't unsee it. In a clip posted to Twitter, a huge tidal wave is heading towards the beach, however, while most people are running away, one guy in the corner is using his impending doom as a chance to pull his friend's swimming trunks down one last time. In the theatrical release, the scene was reportedly cropped so you could only see the motion from the tops of their heads. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter

Friends fans think they've found the original clip that inspired Matt LeBlanc's tribute to Matthew Perry with the actor joking that he still owed him 'twenty bucks'. In an episode titled The One With the Kips, which first aired on 29 October, 1998, Monica makes up that Chandler has stolen $20 from her purse to cover up their secret fling. "You know what, now that I think about it, I constantly find myself without twenties, and you always have lots", Joey chimes in, thinking her rouse is genuine. Madame Web line about 'researching spiders in the Amazon' has already become a meme
It’s not even been released yet, but the fallout from the Madame Web trailer just goes to show that nothing is ever safe from internet meme culture. The clip from the upcoming Sony superhero movie gives fans a flavour of Dakota Johnson’s debut as she plays character Cassandra Webb for the first time. There’s a lot to take in, with a host of new stars and exciting stunts showcased in the clip, but one particular line of dialogue has made the biggest impression so far. And what’s the line? Well, it’s a line about a mysterious male character familiar to Johnson’s character. “He was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died.” Admittedly, it’s delivered in a slightly stunted way, and fans have really cottoned onto it in the hours since the trailer was released. Pretty soon, the internet was having a field day with the whole thing. Fans will have to wait until the film is released on February 16 until they can find any more meme-worthy lines of dialogue. Big Brother's Trish breaks silence over old tweet controversy
Big Brother's Trish Balusa has given us her first media interview since being evicted from the Big Brother house - and she's addressing the tweet scandal that has rocked her reputation since leaving. Fans who has supported the outspoken, left-wing, self-confessed feminist were left gobsmacked to discover the nature of her posts from the past, perpetuating homophobia and racism through the lens of someone entirely different to who we'd seen on screen. "You know, I was so shocked", she said of the moment she found out the tweets had been pulled up, despite an independent company allegedly doing digital background checks on all of the contestants before they entered the house. "I think for the first time, I looked in the mirror and I saw in myself, the people that I criticise and the things that I stand against." The mum-of-one has since put out a written apology online, and surprisingly, most people have been forgiving, likely due to her switched-on political compass while under the watchful eye of Big Brother. "You express a view [online] and then you're done you move on from it, and then maybe you learn, you change, challenge yourself, you gain different experiences," she notes. "You don't get to go back and elaborate on that view. You don't get to go back and say: 'actually, according to my experiences now or the people I've learned that people have educated me, this is what I think now'". "I love the support, I love that people can give me grace. But I also get that there are some people who this is still very new to them." She adds: "I do want to remind people that I couldn't fake who I wasn't big brother for that long." Trish has since vowed to have honest conversations with the friends she made in the house who will undoubtably be affected by her words, including Yinrun, Jordan, Henry, and Matty - all of which she would love to remain friends with on the outside. Notably, however, she candidly opened up on the impact the revelations had on her brother, who is transgender. "I was really apologetic, I was like: 'I've let you down because we've come so far through this journey' and I have to look back at that person, someone that's very close to me, someone that's in a community, they're going to have to look at that", she says. "This is a conversation I'm going to have to have with a lot of people who are in those marginalised group that are hurt by the comments that I had made in the past. "Hopefully, I could rely on the fact that they know my heart. They know who I am." Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter

Jacob Elordi confesses he never wanted to make 'ridiculous' Kissing Booth movies
There are plenty of actors and actresses who end up making films and TV shows that they don’t like – but few actually admit as much. One person who has is Jacob Elordi. The Australian actor revealed that he thinks his 2018 film The Kissing Booth is “ridiculous” and said that he never wanted to make the movie or its sequels. The 26-year-old is known for his roles in Euphoria, as well as the three films in the Kissing Booth series. He also stars as Elvis Presley in the new Sophia Coppola film Priscilla. However, the actor was asked about his experiences making the romcoms earlier on in his career, where he played the protagonist Noah Flynn. The film has a rating of just 15 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes - and Elordi is a little sheepish about starring in them. Speaking to GQ, Elordi said he “didn't [actually] want to make those movies before [he] made those movies” Branding the films “ridiculous”, he said: "They're not universal. They're an escape." He went on to discuss the balance actors and actresses in Hollywood often choose to take, balancing making ‘one for them’ and then one film for themselves as a performer. "It can become 15 for them, none for you. You have no original ideas and you’re dead inside. So it’s a fine dance,” he said. Elordi admitted that he “felt very corny” after making The Kissing Booth. "I felt like I had to prove to everyone that I was a serious actor. I felt terribly misunderstood." An SNL sketch that featured a fake excerpt from Britney Spears' memoir is causing a stir, after many claimed it was 'mocking' the trauma the star had been through. Ice Spice (played by Punkie Johnson), The B-52s‘ Fred Schneider (Bowen Yang), and Martin Scorsese (Timothee Chalamet), all took turns to mockingly read chapters - including one fake account of 'Spears' sleeping with someone when she was young. The Elon Musk biopic is already being called 'the worst film ever made'
It might seem harsh to judge a film before it has even come out but news that an Elon Musk biopic is in the works has not been greeted with a warm reception. News emerged on Friday that Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream director Darren Aronofsky will helm the project which is based on the recently published Walter Isaacson on the tech billionaire. For those who saw Danny Boyle's 2015 film about Steve Jobs, creatively called Steve Jobs, might remember that biopic, starring Michael Fassbender, was also based on an Isaacson biography of a powerful tech individual. The film will be distributed by indie darlings A24, with Variety reporting the several studios and filmmakers were involved in an intense bidding war to option the project. As the film has just been announced there is no release date or cast as of yet but fans have cast their vote, believing that Kevin Durand should play the South African. That being said, the overall response to the film's announcement has not been a positive one with some already calling it 'the worst film ever made.' Musk doesn't need much of an introduction but it will be interesting to see what direction the movie takes and whether it is critical of the tech mogul's more recent activity notably his much-maligned takeover of Twitter. Aronofsky's last film, The Whale was also distributed by A24 and saw Brendan Fraser win the Oscar for Best Actor. Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Jeremy Allen White says he's learnt to ‘shut the f up’ after comment on Euphoria star's lingerie shoot
Jeremy Allen White says he’s learnt to keep his thoughts to himself after a single-word comment he made went viral. The Shameless star, 32, confessed he was bowled over by the reaction from fans after he offered his take on a Calvin Klein lingerie shoot starring Euphoria actress Alexa Demie. Back in August, photographers Inez and Vinoodh uploaded the video campaign to Instagram, prompting White to write simply: “Wow”. Fans swiftly seized on his assessment, which racked up more than 3,140 likes and 105 comments. “Horny on main, chef,” wrote one joker, in a nod to White’s iconic role in The Bear. “Chef, join the line,” added another. “Sir, get a burner account PLEASE,” said a third. Meanwhile, others shared their hopes that the two silver screen favourites would get together, with one writing: “Please god let this happen. The 32-year-old addressed the debacle in an interview with GQ, published on Tuesday. He admitted he quickly called his publicist about the viral response to his remark and told her: “I just need to shut the f**k up. I just shouldn’t say anything.” “And she was like, ‘Kind of’,” he recalled. Still, the award-winning actor insisted that his “wow” was not intended as a public come-on to Demie. Rather, he was innocently expressing admiration for the work of Inez and Vinoodh. Besides, White – a newly-divorced father-of-two – clearly shuns the image of ladies’ man or heartthrob. Indeed, in February, he took his mum as his date to the SAG awards, where he won in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series. He also spent months hanging out with the co-stars of his latest film, The Iron Claw, enjoying some almost comically masculine activities. White, Zach Efron and Harris Dickinson play brothers in the biopic about a family of wrestlers in the 1980s. The trio had to beef up considerably for the film, and spent nearly all of their time in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, doing one of two activities: eating and working out, according to GQ. “Jeremy is the f**king man,” Efron told White’s interviewer Cam Wolf in an email. “His presence is electric on and off camera. He motivated me to take the role as seriously as possible; we pushed each other to be better both on and off set.” Perhaps people should learn not to take every comment White makes so seriously, though. Taylor Swift fans believe 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)' will be announced this week
Taylor Swift delighted fans when she released 1989 (Taylor's Version) last month, but alas there is no rest when you're a Swiftie and no Easter egg unfound... Now, many believe that reputation (Taylor's Version) is set to be released this Thursday (November 9) - 13 days after the recent re-recording. A fan (@notalyssasue) has gone TikTok viral with her presentation on why she believes this to be the case, with supporting evidence to back her theory up. She starts by noting how everyone thinks the announcement will be on November 10 because that's the album's original release date back in 2017. @notalyssasue I love living on clownelia street #taylorswift #reputationtaylorsversion #reputationstadiumtour #swiftie #swifties #Inverted "So I know that you're looking at my crazy, but please hear me out," the TikToker says. On the Midnights album, there is the song on the 3 a.m. deluxe edition called 'Glitch' and has the lyrics: "But it's been two thousand one hundred and 90 days of our love blackout." To which @notalyssasue pointed out that Swift had a famous social media blackout ahead of her reputation era, "until randomly coming back one day." She has then calculated that the number of days between the original release date of reputation on November 10 2017 and November 9 2023 is 2,190 - like in the song 'Glitch.' "Gasp," she commented. Then the number of days between the release of 1989 (Taylor's Version) and November 9 is 13 days - Swift's favourite number. A coincidence? Meanwhile, recent snaps of Swift out and about with friends appear on the presentation as @notalyssasue highlighted how the singer's outfits have been "glitching" between blue and black - maybe signifying the shift from 1989 to reputation. Back in September, Taylor Nation posted a tweet celebrating the two years since the 'Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version) release, "but they made sure to put emphasis whenever they referred to 'the glitch.'" She also noticed when going to pre-save 1989 (Taylor's Version) the screen "glitched" to black before returning to the blue colour. Swift has a history of announcing a re-recording release during one of her Eras tour shows, and on November 9 she does have a show at Estadio River Plate, Buenos Aires, Argentina. And most importantly of all, the TikTok made her final case: "I really, really want her to." A valid point. Since then, the video has received 1.1m views, 221,000 likes and thousands of comments from Swifties sharing their own theories about reputation. One person wrote: "I don't think she's going to announce it I think she's just going to drop it. No presales or anything. It's the hill I've chosen to die on." "AT THIS POINT I'M GONNA SUPER DISAPPOINTED IF SHE DOESN'T DO ANYTHING THE 9TH OR 10TH, i don't wanna clown again," another person said. Someone else added: "CALENDAR HAS BEEN MARKED." "What if she announces rep tv on Nov 10 then releases on New Year’s Day," a fourth person commented. Meanwhile, other hints that Swift appears to be teasing reputation as the next re-record release include the "S" in 1989 (Taylor's Version) resembling a snake. Additionally, fans who have been buying merch have noticed the star confetti that comes in the parcel is mostly blue, except for one black star. Could Swift really be announcing or potentially dropping reputation (Taylor's Version) so soon? Guess we'll have to wait until November 9 and 10 to find out...
