Cospiracy theorists baselessly claim Biden has a body double
Cospiracy theorists baselessly claim Biden has a body double
Conspiracy theorists think Joe Biden is actually just a guy in a mask, pretending to be the 80-year-old president. Under normal circumstances, that would be a baseless, fringe opinion that is consigned to the dustbin of public discourse. But now, Elon Musk’s social media platform X/Twitter is pushing it to the top of everyone’s newsfeeds. Tweets have flooded the platform in recent days claiming that Biden has a body double, following pictures of the president returning from his recent trip to Israel. “They’ve been pretty good up until now making sure he never spends too long in a hot room so the mask will start coming off of his chin,” said right-wing conspiracy theorist Brian Cates last week. “Here the mask is starting to come loose, it is visible and you can see the bulging in the chin area.” Cates was one of a flood of accounts which tweeted the video with a suggestion that Biden’s face was, in fact, fake, and got tens of thousands of likes and retweets for it. Separately, another user called Liz Churchill posted a video, which appears to be a zoomed-in shot of a television screen, saying: “This is getting more ridiculous by the day. This is not Joe Biden.” The discourse comes on the same day that the Kremlin denied a report that Russian president Vladimir Putin was ill. It also laughed off speculation that he used body doubles to cover for him in public appearances, a theory that has been circulating for several years. "Everything is fine with him, this is absolutely another fake," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. He was responding to a question about an unsourced report by a Russian Telegram channel that the president had suffered a serious health episode on Sunday evening. As for Biden, there is zero credible evidence to suggest that he is anything other than an old man with a wrinkly face. However, in the increasingly warped world of X/Twitter, conspiracy theorists now have all the blue “verified” ticks rather than trusted news sources. And it seems with Musk’s changes, such as pushing those blue tickers’ tweets into the new “for you” section of the feed, more and more people are going to be seeing theories like this, much more frequently. Sleeping on yellow stained pillows leaves the internet divided
Sleeping on yellow stained pillows leaves the internet divided
We all have our comforts to get the best sleep possible, but it turns out a yellow-stained pillow is a staple for a lot of men and it's sparked a debate online. A photo of a yellow-stained pillow from Getty Images went viral went it was posted to Twitter/X by user Cam Thomson (@largemotorcycle). "Gf is mad at me because I have revealed to her The Yellow Pillow. Fellas, i’m sure you all know that this thing is magic," he wrote in the caption. He added in a follow-up tweet: "It’s not my fault the pillow is yellow and bestows upon me the most peaceful slumber." “To me, it’s my most comfortable pillow and a sign of a well-loved item,” Thomson told NBC News, but it has since been "tucked away in storage," as his girlfriend wanted him to throw it away. The tweet quickly began to do numbers, receiving 4.5m views, and over 63,000 likes and prompting a discussion where it there was an apparent gender divide as men were particularly attached to their yellow pillows from their childhood which apparently "give[s] you the best sleep of your life." "Part of being a man is using the same pillow since the age of 10 and never washing it," one person wrote. While another person said: "My life has been a downward spiral since I threw away mine when I was like 23." "I got rid of my yellow pillows maybe a year ago and I legit haven't rested comfortably since," someone else added. A fourth person commented: "Women will never understand the male attachment to their yellow pillow." While the women aren't exactly fans of the yellow pillows and make it known in the discourse. One person wrote: "If you go to his house and see these leave." "Yuck. This is just like my husband’s pillow. He calls it “seasoning," another person said. Someone else added: "Why do all men have a yellow pillow. WASH IT" As this debate roars on, the real question is... why do pillows turn yellow in the first place? It's all to do with the accumulation of moisture such as sweat, drool, wet hair, and even skincare products, according to Sleep Foundation. But a yellow pillow could also hinder your sleep due to the presence of allergens where things such as dust mites, and mildew build up in the pillow and cause allergic reactions. Your skin may also break out when using a yellow pillow due to the bacterial buildup on the surface you rest your head on each night. It is recommended that pillows should be replaced in one to two years or sooner if they begin to discolour. Woman left in tears after Ice T’s son cuts off her hair in shock prank
Woman left in tears after Ice T’s son cuts off her hair in shock prank
A Twitch streamer found herself in a bizarre situation recently, after having her hair cut off by the son of Ice T apparently without her consent. A video has emerged which shows Tracy Marrow Jr taking part in an ill-advised prank and chipping a length of the Twitch user Malek_04’s hair. The pair were together as part of a gathering for TwitchCon Las Vegas, which took place over the weekend. Twitch streamer Malek_04 was hosting a house party and broadcasting it live on the streaming platform when the strange incident took place. Marrow Jr, who is the son of American rapper Ice-T, was one of the guests in attendance. A group gathered and appeared to be socialising as normal, before Malek began eating an orange in front of the camera. Then, when she was completely unaware, Marrow Jr cut a piece of her hair off – much to her surprise. Malek exclaimed: “Wait, what the f***?” She backed off from Marrow Jr. before saying: “What the f***, man?” “Yo, who wants it?” Marrow Jr then said, before presenting the hair straight towards the camera. All very strange, and while Malek seemed remarkably calm after the ‘prank’, it led fans to speculate about her reaction later on. The stream later showed Malek in tears – however, some viewers have stated that it could have been the result of a different situation. Meanwhile, Twitch has been in the headlines recently after one of the biggest streamers iShowSpeed was unbanned on the platform after nearly two years. Parents left reeling after son who’s been 'dead' for 6 months calls them up
Parents left reeling after son who’s been 'dead' for 6 months calls them up
Look, none of us is above pettiness, especially when it comes to family arguments. But one man’s sisters took things to a whole new level, as he revealed in a radio call-in. The brother, named Callum, told New Zealand’s ZM show that his siblings once convinced his parents he was dead. And his poor mum and dad only learned the truth when he called them for a catch-up... six months later. Hosts Carl Fletcher, Vaughan Smith and Hayley Sproull listened to the story with dropped jaws, branding it the “best” they’d ever heard. The trio were quick to probe Callum on the details of the crazy deception, and he duly obliged. "My sisters were in a bit of a tiff with my parents at the time and they weren't really getting along,” he explained. "I was living in Wellington while they were in Christchurch. And my older sister actually called my parents up and told them that I’d died." His sisters then apparently claimed that the funeral had already taken place and their parents hadn’t been invited because his ex-girlfriend’s mum and dad “didn’t want them there”. (Makes sense.) At this point, a stunned Smith interjected: ”I'm going to say this, and in the nicest possible way – your sister sounds like a crazy b**h. "No offence. Your sister sounds like a top-level, red flag, crazy b***h!" @fvhzm Callum wins the award for the greatest sentence ever said on-air in ZM history 😳 The hosts then posed the million-dollar question: how had Callum not spoken to his parents for half a year? He responded matter-of-factly: "I was just busy with life and work and then I was like, wait, I haven't heard from my parents in a while. I wonder what's going on?” He then revealed that he “gave them a call up” and, shocked, they responded: “You're alive?” Asked how they reacted upon hearing the voice of their presumed late son, Callum admitted they were “beside themselves”. “My mum was absolutely in tears and my dad was kind of just gobsmacked – he was just like 'what the f**k is going on?'” he recounted. But, he later said that they were “over the moon” when he went down to visit them that same weekend to “reassure them” that he was, indeed, alive. Naturally, the presenters asked how it was possible that his parents just accepted the news of his death without trying to verify it. "They were kind of like just running around, calling up all our other family – seeing if they had heard anything, from what I was told," he explained. "And then they didn't really know anything to go off so my parents kind of just presumed 'yeah he died'." The presenters then debated whether you would call someone up if you’d heard they’d died. “If somebody said that your friend is dead, you’re not going to pick up the phone and call them, are you? You’re just going to be like, oh, well, yeah, they’re dead,” Fletcher said. But Smith insisted that he would get drunk and call their voicemail just to hear their voice. After the personal reflections, the hosts asked Callum how he’d “died” according to his sisters – whether it had been a car accident or some other unfortunate event. But no, they apparently told his parents that he’d been stabbed. "Wait wait wait. So you are murdered?” Smith laughed delightedly. "You're not dead by your own hand or dead in an accident, someone murdered you?” He then asked Callum if he was “the sort of person who would have been stabbed?", to which he replied: "I was not in some gangs but I will say, at the point in time, it wouldn't have been unpeculiar for me to get stabbed." The caller went on to insist that he didn’t know why his sisters “hate” him, and he also revealed that his parents no longer speak to them. “We've nearly been doing this for 20 years,” Smith said. “This is the wildest phone call I've ever had.” ZM Radio shared the excerpt from the episode to TikTok and it racked up more than 1.5 million views and 167,000 likes in a week. However, the plot thickened when a commentator claiming to be Callum’s sister wrote: “I can confirm I never told my parents he was dead.” She said there had been a stabbing in the city of Porirua at the time, and no one had heard from Callum “for a few months” and so she contacted him to check he was ok. And when she found out he was, “she was happy”. She then suggested her family had a number of issues and that she “tried to stay away” from them. Urged to call into the radio show and “get this straightened out”, she replied: “Is it really even worth it? In order to do that I would need to air everyone's dirty laundry. It would turn from comical to sad very quickly.” Besides, she said, she didn’t really “mind” his on-air account, conceding: “The story was a good laugh.” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. How to play the viral London Tube 'Metro Memory' game
How to play the viral London Tube 'Metro Memory' game
Every now and then, a viral game or quiz captures the attention of the masses, such as the viral TikTok marshmallow game. And, when a games tests you on the knowledge of the place you live, the competition becomes even fiercer. Now is the turn of the viral Tube Map Game, which puts people’s memory of London’s TfL stations to the test. The game was invented by web developer Benjamin Tran Dinh, who has a history of creating fun but sometimes frustrating map-based games. With hundreds of stations on the TfL network, the tube alone sees approximately five million passenger journeys made a day. But with so many stations to consider, people are boasting about remembering around 40 per cent of them. What is the London Tube Memory Game? Despite being called the the London Tube Memory Game, it tasks people with remembering as many of the names of tube and overground stations as they possibly can. In the search bar, players type in the name of a station they can think of. Each one they get right contributes to the percentage score displayed on the side of the screen. The browser will even remember how many stations and what percentage score you previously got to, meaning you can come back to the page when another one pops into your head. How do you play the London Tube Memory Game? The game is easily accessed on a web browser at london.metro-memory.com, meaning anyone with internet access and a device can play it. As soon as you enter your first station in the bar, you will be off the mark and the search bar will handily show you where on the map the station you entered is located, with blank circles marking the remaining stations needing names. Influencer makes thousands of pounds through her armpit hair
Influencer makes thousands of pounds through her armpit hair
A British influencer has made almost half a million pounds in earnings – thanks to her natural body hair. Fenella Fox is a 30-year-old influencer from Worcester who shares frequent body positivity posts with her social media followers. Fox explained how she witnessed a trend in bikini photos online and decided to recreate the images herself. "I stopped wearing makeup, stopped styling my hair, stopped shaving and let my body do its natural thing," she told Mail Online. "I talked about it a lot online and soon became known as a ‘body positive influencer’. "I think at the time there weren’t many doing what I was doing so I really stood out and it was actually really scary." Fox said she rakes in around £8,000 a month from creating content – however, while the financial freedom is a positive in her life, she also suffers from PTSD following a string of horrific backlash and two occasions of being stalked. She told the publication that her "life has never been the same" since 2018 when a man became obsessed with the idea of hurting her. "Horrific," she said. "I also experienced being stalked in person by another man in January this year and get long email essays from another man online regularly." She went on to say that one of the worst reactions was someone telling her that her job would result in death in their country. "I have also had men expect me to want to sleep with them because of my job," she added, noting that while she "entertains men online for a living," she gets "anxious" around them in person as a result. "I'll be brave and get a kiss maybe twice a year - my lack of sex life often comes at the shock to many of my fans," she continued. Flat Earther left humiliated after trying to argue with a scientist
Flat Earther left humiliated after trying to argue with a scientist
Flat Earther David Weiss was left humiliated after debating a professor on the shape of our Earth. Weiss regularly interviews people on the subject on his show The Flat Earth Podcast, but threw himself into unfamiliar territory last year when he switched out being the interviewer for the interviewee. Weiss appeared on Professor Dave Explains in an episode title 'Professor Dave Humiliates Flat Earthed David Weiss'. During the hour long episode the pair debated Flat Earth believes, with Weiss claiming that the shape of the Earth came from astronomers who Professor Dave "doesn't know". "You've never met these men, you don't know anything about these men other than the stories that the controllers of this world tell you," Weiss told the academic. Like most Flat Earthers Weiss seemed to have an answer for everything, well, almost everything. Because when the discussion arrive at Earth's movement within space, Weiss struggled. "You think that we're spinning at 1000 miles an hour, and we don't feel it? And we're changing directions?" Weiss said on Earth's orbit. "How is that possible? How about when the Earth comes around towards the Sun in the winter, it's speeding up and taking its sharpest turn, and we don't feel any go those forces?" Naturally, Professor Dave made counterpoints at Weiss' argument. "Why don't you go ahead and get in a car, and do a 360 turn and make it take a year. Are you going to feel that?" Professor Dave asked Weiss, who acknowledged that it takes a year for the Earth to travel around the Sun. "Let's break it down," Professor Dave continued. "360 degrees, 365 days, that's about a degree a [day] right? Why don't you get in a car and drive for 24 hours, and over 24 hours veer by one degree. Are you going to feel that?" Professor Dave Humiliates Flat Earther David Weiss (DITRH Debunked Live) www.youtube.com Weiss was silent after this, with the participants on the Zoom call bursting out into laughter from Weiss' inability to respond. Weiss' humiliation now has over 4 million views. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy.
