Thirsty passenger lets ice melt to avoid paying for water on plane
Planes are pricey and often filled with disappointment, especially when it comes to food and beverages. But now, one TikTok user has come up with an innovative plan to avoid paying extortionate prices for water during a flight. In a viral clip that's racked up almost half a million views, TikTok user @rachealxk explained how she "was thirsty but I didn’t want to pay €3.00 for water." The recording shows the passenger with a cup of ice that she let melt before drinking. "No cause why does water have to be so expensive," she continued in the caption. It didn't take long for fellow TikTokers to flood the comments praising her little-known hack. "Surely having to pay for a cup of water on any flight should be illegal or a health risk," one person suggested. Another commented on the lengthy process, highlighting the colder temperatures on a flight: "The way it would take longer to melt because it’s always so cold on a plane." Meanwhile, one person claimed they do the same thing on a night out. "I did this in the club when they tried charging me for tap water because lol," they wrote. Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter @rachealxk No cause why does water have to be so expensive? #fyp #holiday #ryanair #travel #europe It comes after one flight attendant lifted the lid on what really happens to the body during a long-haul flight. Speaking to AU News, in-flight services manager for Air New Zealand, Ben Whatman, urged passengers to stay hydrated. "During a long-haul flight, the key thing is to feel comfortable and safe, especially when you’re wanting to get that much-needed shut-eye in an over 10-hour flight," he said. "Due to the recirculated air on a plane, your throat, nose and skin will tend to get dry." He went on to explain that people could, in fact, "lose up to 1.5 to 2 litres of water in a 10-hour flight." As stated by the Aerospace Medical Association (AsMA), passengers should limit alcohol, tea, coffee and caffeine while flying as it could cause people to "lose fluids." They also advise people to drink a cup of water during flights. Have your say in our news democracy. Meanwhile, others shared what they would have done in the same situation. One said: "Add lemon juice and it will immediately curdle. Woman claims Airbnb guest refused to leave her home
A woman was left raging after claiming a temporary tenant refused to leave her California home. In a furious explicit-filled rant reposted to the @2RawTooReal Twitter account, the woman alleged that her temporary house guest wouldn't leave – despite getting the police involved. In some states, renters can establish themselves as tenants if they booked a stay for 30 days or longer, according to GU. She explained that she posted an advertisement on the popular rental website to help with the mortgage while she was on holiday. The guest was supposed to be gone three days before she arrived home. In a follow-up video, she filmed the unidentified (and unwelcome) lodger who brutally hit back: "I ain't going nowhere. Deal with it." After the homeowner accused the stranger of being a "freeloader", she replied furiously: "Call the police because I ain't going nowhere. Don't touch that [bedroom] door, or I'm calling the police on you. They're gonna arrest you." The would-be tenant proceeded to make herself comfortable and even went as far as lighting a cigarette in the homeowner's dining area. "Are you smoking in my house?" the enraged woman said, before abruptly ending the video. Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The viral footage was soon inundated with responses from stunned Twitter users. One person came up with their own innovative solution, writing: "This is the part where I cut off all the power, the cable, internet, etc. We are gonna live like it’s 1800. I would summon the worst vindictive version of myself to make it as uncomfortable AF for them to get them out of my house." Another joked: "Lmfaooo why is she so comfortable!?! Walking around with no shoes on, moving slowly etc." Meanwhile, a third person added: "This is one of the most insane things I've ever seen." Indy100 reached out to Airbnb for comment. A woman has been hospitalised thanks to an unfortunate mix-up. TikToker freezes their dead cat so they could be 'together forever'
A TikToker has gone viral for freeze-drying their dead cat so they could be "together forever". Soren High, 35, from Oregon was heartbroken when their 16-year-old feline Loki passed away from a traumatising accident. Soren, who goes by they/them pronouns, told Insider they instantly knew they wanted to have the cat preserved "the day I took her home." When i got Lokicat as a kitten, I knew this was how i was going to deal with ber death. I knew i never wanted her to be gone, and that I wanted to always have her with me. Her death was sudden, even though she was 16. We never expected this would happen and especially by a dog we had been fostering. This situation broke us into a billion pieces. After finding a home for the dog, we had Loki preserved through @Animal Family Pet with help through donations and raising funds with memorial fabrics and pieces. Her preservation cost nearly $3k and it was worth every Penny. . . #petmemorial #petpreservation #taxidermy #petsoftiktok #freezedriedpets #fypシ #foryou #grief #loss #memorial Soren also shared how they had Loki's heart frozen. "She is actually fully intact, meaning she was never skinned, and all her bones are actually still inside," Soren explained in one of her clips. "Remembering Lokicat the only way she deserved. Having a pet preserved is a personal decision and one that many may never understand." Many of their 45,000 TikTokers believed the process to be taxidermy, before Soren corrected them. "Taxidermy is completely different and freeze drying has less impact on the body tissues, making the preservation much more ideal," they said. "There's very little chance that she wouldn’t look like herself through freeze-dry. Taxidermy can lead to some unsatisfactory outcomes if not taken absolutely seriously." @teapourn Replying to @☀️ taxidermy is completely different and freeze drying has less impact on the body tissues, msking the preservation much more ideal. What does 'yellow car' mean on TikTok?
It seems the rest of the world has been left rather baffled by the classic British “yellow car” game after it has gone viral on TikTok. If you didn’t grow up in the UK, chances are you think nothing of it when you see a yellow car drive by you. But, for Brits who did, seeing a yellow car meant you were oftentimes giving or receiving a beating from someone else. What is the significance of yellow cars? In the game, which is typically played on long car journeys between young people, if you are the first to spot a yellow car, you have to shout “yellow car” and are then allowed to hit someone else near you. The punch to the arm is not intended to hurt the other person but is a fun game to pass the time and keep you on your toes. The rules of the game are that only yellow cars are allowed, so any vans or buses spotted don’t count. If you receive the hit, you are also not allowed to hit back thanks to the “no returns” rule. Viral moose running on water video explained
A moose has been dubbed as "Jesus" and "Moses" (or "Mooses") after a resurfaced viral clip shows the animal running on water. In the video posted by Kristy Paniptchuk (@kristy_234) back in 2020, the video shows the scenery in Alaska as she cruised in a small boat up a river. She spotted the sizeable animal as it bolted across the river and managed to capture the moment as it make its way through the shallow waters at some speed. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The cow moose can then be seen crossing paths with the boats, determined to get to the other side of the water. Paniptchuk said at the time that the video is not fake and that the moose was moving across the shallow river that is just five meters deep in order to travel up stream, as per Metro.co.uk. @kristy_234 Cow moose #fyp #alaska To explain: The moose appears to seamlessly sprint through the water due to its shallow depths - it's so shallow in fact that the boat is believed to be a jet boat since a boat with propellers could cause damage if it hits the bottom. Since sharing the clip, the video has gone viral, as it received over 706,000 views, and plenty of comments from people who were fascinated by the video. One person joked: "Moses but a moose. Mooses" "Our lord and savior Jesus Moose," another person quipped. Someone else added: "Today I learned that I couldn't outrun a moose even if I wanted to."
