When does the Saudi Pro League transfer window close?
When does the Saudi Pro League transfer window close?
The Saudi Pro League has spent lavishly on the finest players in football with the total currently at approximately £725m so far this summer. The country’s Public Investment Fund even owns four of the country’s top clubs: Al-Ahli, Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr. Their transfer window closes after the Premier League, meaning uncertainty among certain Premier League and European clubs as the season develops. FOLLOW LIVE - Transfer news latest: Chelsea sign Cole Palmer on deadline day as Manchester United confirm signing Without the ability to reinvest on players until January, bids from the Saudi Pro League will test the resolve of the Premier League. Here’s everything you need to know about the end of the Saudi transfer window. When does the Saudi Pro League transfer window close? Fifa has the Saudi transfer deadline day listed as Wednesday, 20 September. But the league’s website states that teams have until Thursday, 7 September to sign players. Either way, the four PIF-backed clubs have longer than European clubs to sign players. The transfer window across the majority of leagues in Europe slams shut on Friday, 1 September, with Premier League clubs able to do business until 11pm. Liverpool will come under serious pressure, having already rejected a bid worth £150m from Al-Ittihad for Mohamed Salah. “The influence of Saudi Arabia is massive at the moment,” Jurgen Klopp said when asked about the situation. “Pretty much the worst thing, I think, is that the transfer window in Saudi Arabia is open three weeks longer. If I am right, I heard something like that, then at least in Europe, that’s not helpful. “UEFA or FIFA must find solutions for that. But in the end, at this moment, I don’t know exactly what will happen. It’s already influential for us, but we will have to learn to deal with it. Time will show.” Prominent Saudi Pro League transfers in 2023 Sadio Mane [Bayern Munich] Al-Nassr Aymeric Laporte [Manchester City] Al-Nassr Ruben Neves [Wolverhampton Wanderers] Al-Hilal Kalidou Kouilbaly [Chelsea] Al-Hilal Neymar [Paris Saint-Germain] Al-Hilal Aleksandar Mitrovic [Fulham] Al-Hilal Roberto Firmino [Liverpool] Al-Ahli Allan Saint-Maximin [Newcastle] Al-Ahli Riyad Mahrez [Manchester City Al-Ahli Karim Benzema [Real Madrid] Al-Ittihad N’Golo Kante [Chelsea] Al-Ittihad Fabinho [Liverpool] Al-Ittihad Jordan Henderson [Liverpool] Al-Ettifaq Read More Liverpool turn down £150m offer for Mohamed Salah from Al-Ittihad Rory McIlroy fully focused on the course in bid for fourth FedEx Cup title Deadline day latest LIVE: Premier League transfers as the window prepares to shut Deadline day latest LIVE: Premier League transfers as the window prepares to shut Manchester United re-sign title-winning defender on short-term contract Luis Rubiales news LIVE: Spain manager Jorge Vilda set for sack

Six reasons that John Cena is WWE's G.O.A.T
Six reasons that John Cena is WWE's G.O.A.T
John Cena is undoubtedly one of the most iconic WWE Superstars of all time. Following his surprise appearance at The O2 London during WWE Money in the Bank, Cena will be returning to SmackDown on Friday 1st September at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania and appearing at WWE Superstar Spectacle at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India, on Friday 8th September. Cena will also appear on SmackDown for seven consecutive weeks, beginning Friday 15th September through to the end of October. John Cena has proven himself to be the G.O.A.T. in a myriad of ways, from his big screen moments to his philanthropy. Here are six reasons why the WWE Universe keep wanting more: 1. His character: Cena's personality and strong connection with his audience, especially when it comes to his younger fans, cemented his status as a WWE legend long ago. His signature catchphrases - "Never Give Up and "You Can't See Me” - have transcended the WWE Universe and permeated mainstream global culture. His ability to create exciting matches, promos and voiceovers are what has made him one of the most loved WWE Superstars in history. 2. His trophy cabinet: During his expansive WWE career, Cena has become a 16-time WWE Champion - a record he currently shares with two-time WWE Hall of Famer, Ric Flair. During his time on the main WWE roster, Cena has feuded with other big-name WWE Superstars including Randy Orton, Edge, Shawn Michaels, and The Rock. 3. His good heart: Cena's philanthropic efforts, including his work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, have earned him a great deal of respect and admiration. Cena holds the current Guinness World Record for granting the most Make-a-Wish wishes in history - 650 and counting - which The Guinness World Records site hailed as a “herculean” effort. 4. His following: Almost 20 million people follow John Cena on Instagram, where his random approach to posting often leaves fans confused, but intrigued. Over on X, Cena likes to wax philosophical, with 14 million followers logging on for his daily nuggets of wisdom. “The real challenge often starts after the finish line”, Cena posted last week. 5. His acting skills: Cena's mainstream popularity extends well beyond the WWE Universe. John Cena has starred in blockbuster Hollywood movies including the "Fast & Furious" franchise, "Trainwreck," "Bumblebee" and of course, 2023’s hottest Hollywood release, “Barbie” - where he played Mermaid Ken, alongside Mermaid Barbie, Dua Lipa. 6. His gravitas: Many fellow wrestlers and industry professionals have spoken highly of Cena's professionalism, leadership, and willingness to help others succeed in the business. Tottenham agree fee for Brennan Johnson with Nottingham Forest
Tottenham agree fee for Brennan Johnson with Nottingham Forest
Tottenham have agreed a fee in excess of £45million for Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson. Spurs had made the Wales international their number one target following the sale of Harry Kane and looked to have got their man after agreeing a price with Forest, the PA news agency understands. Johnson will now undergo a medical, with there expected to be no complications in the deal going through before the 11pm deadline. The 22-year-old was a key player in Forest’s Premier League survival last season, scoring eight goals and notching three assists in a struggling side. Forest, who turned down two bids from Brentford for their homegrown player, will be able to satisfy Financial Fair Play requirements with the sale, due to Johnson’s development at the club. His pace and ability to stretch defences will appeal to Spurs, who have been keen on him for some time. Forest are trying to push through a permanent deal for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi as a potential replacement, while also hoping to sign Argentina international Nicolas Dominguez.
