He told fans: "Right now, I have one of the worst experiences I am having right now. I can't even open up my eyes. I have this thing called a cluster headache. A deadly headache disease. I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't do anything right now. "It hurts so bad, chat. It hurts so bad. I can't do anything. It hurts. And, I have a headache right in this area (the streamer puts his hand on top of his right eye and the temple). It's literally exactly like this. He ended the one-minute video on an ominous note: "I wanted to give y'all boys (an) update because I don't know what's going to happen to me. You know what I'm saying? I want y'all boys to always be right there with me, until I die. It's... I don't know, man. But, when I get back home, I'm going to probably chill from traveling for a bit because... a lot is going on. Bye." 💔 www.youtube.com The video has already been viewed more than one million times with many expressing their concern and sending their best wishes to Speed. Speed had earlier uploaded another short video titled 'I might die' where the YouTuber complained about having a 'cluster headache' where he complained about being unable to sleep or eat. They are most common in men in their 30s and 40s and are not considered to be life threatening and can be treated with over-the-counter medicine and paracetemol. Speed's father has since shared and update stating that his son is feeling better and encouraged others to send their support to make sure he feels himself again. Have your say in our news democracy. Meghan Markle has just demolished a Netflix streaming record
Meghan Markle has just demolished a Netflix streaming record
Meghan Markle has just broken an unlikely Netflix record and no, it's not because people have been watching the docuseries about her and Prince Harry again. Before she was a member of the Royal Family, Markle was an actor on the hit legal show Suits which ran on the USA Network from 2011 to 2019, with Markle appearing in 108 of the 134 episodes of the show, where she played paralegal Rachel Zane. Despite the show ending nearly four years ago, it has experienced a sudden resurgence in popularity thanks to it now being available in its entirety on Netflix. In fact, the show has become so popular on the platform that it has smashed the viewing records for an acquired show having been streamed for more than 3.1 billion minutes in a week. The previous show to hold this record was Manifest which had managed just 2.5 billion minutes in a week. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Suits was added to Netflix on June 17th, making it the first time ever the show has been available on there but it has previously been available in other countries including the United Kingdom. According to Nielsen's streaming data, this marks a 36 percent increase in viewership from the previous week. Deadline adds that Nielsen believes that this will only increase as 75 per cent of those viewing figures are from just the first three seasons of the nine season show. Markle left the show in 2017 following her engagement to Prince Harry. In a statement, the future Duchess of Sussex said: "From all of us at USA Network and Universal Cable Productions, we want to send our most heartfelt congratulations to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on their engagement. "Meghan has been a member of our family for seven years and it has been a joy to work with her. We want to thank her for her undeniable passion and dedication to Suits, and we wish her the very best." Have your say in our news democracy. Did a Travis Scott fan sell his house for a concert ticket?
A Travis Scott superfan fooled the internet by convincing people he'd sold his house to attend the rapper's concert in Egypt. It all started when TikTok user @thatlookslikecj shared a clip standing next to a house and a 'sold' sign. "I actually did it," he wrote alongside the footage that racked up 5.1 million views. The comments were flooded with fellow fans, with one writing, "I lowkey might have to sell my kidney for this." Another added, "excellent economic decisions," while a third chimed in: "This deserves more fame." "If you’re that desperate to sell your own home for Travis Scott you deserve whatever comes to you," one person chimed in. Despite social media believing the move, it turned out the story was completely made up and the TikToker is known for his editing. The rapper was set to perform in Cairo on Friday (28 July), but the event was cancelled two days before. Live Nation, the promoters for the gig, said in a statement: "We regret to inform you that the UTOPIA show, originally scheduled for July 28th at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt is cancelled. "Unfortunately, despite highest efforts, complex production issues meant that the show could not be constructed in the desert. We understand that this news is disappointing and not the outcome any of us desired." They reassured fans that they would be refunded for their tickets and apologised for the "inconvenience." They continued: "We remain committed to bringing exceptional live performances to fans and hope to have the opportunity to do so in the future." Have your say in our news democracy. Taylor Swift fans caused an earthquake at her Seattle concert
Taylor Swift fans caused an earthquake at her Seattle concert
Taylor Swift has already broken a number of records this year with her Eras Tour - and now her shows in Seattle caused seismic activity equivalent to a 2.3 magnitude earthquake. For two nights (22 and 23 July), the 33-year-old pop star performed to a record-breaking 144,000 fans at Lumen Field, in the Emerald City in what has now been described as the "Swift Quake." This has been compared to the “Beast Quake," back in 2011 when Seattle Seahawks fans reacted to Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch's touchdown. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Seismologist Jackie Caplan-Auerbach, who is a geology professor at Western Washington University noticed someone comparing the two events on a Facebook group and decided to investigate further. “I grabbed the data from both nights of the concert and quickly noticed they were clearly the same pattern of signals,” Caplan-Auerbach told CNN. “If I overlay them on top of each other, they’re nearly identical.” Seismographs are instruments used to record the motion of the ground, When looking at the difference in magnitude, the "Beast Quake" was 2.0, while the "Swift Quake" was just higher at 2.3. An earthquake of this scale is minor, it can shake the ground enough for people to notice but damage is normally limited to objects falling off shelves, according to New Scientist. Though Caplan-Auerbach noted a sizable difference between the "Beast Quake" and "Swift Quake" in terms of shaking. "The shaking was twice as strong as ‘Beast Quake’. It absolutely doubled it," the seismologist told the same publication. But in a tweet, Caplan-Auerbach considered other factors that come into play such as the music, speakers and sound system contributing to the seismic activity, not just the fans. While a reaction to a touchdown lasts for seconds, the seismologist detailed how for Swift's concerts she "collected about 10 hours of data where rhythm controlled the behavior." Swift clearly enjoyed the atmosphere at the weekend as she took to Instagram and wrote: "Seattle that was genuinely one of my favorite weekends ever. Thank you for everything. All the cheering, screaming, jumping, dancing, singing at the top of your lungs." Have your say in our news democracy. Big Brother contestant who was kidnapped and sold on dark web recalls how she escaped
Big Brother contestant who was kidnapped and sold on dark web recalls how she escaped
A British model has recounted her relief at escaping a kidnapping, after she was held prisoner in Italy and put up for sale on the dark web. Chloe Ayling, 25, who was on Celebrity Big Brother in 2018, suffered the traumatic experience the previous year, when she was abducted and drugged by two men in Milan. Ayling was 20 at the time, and had travelled there for a modelling job. Instead, she was taken hostage and held at a £265,000 ransom in a farmhouse near Turin. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Speaking on ITV, she recalled: “I walked into the studio and there was just silence. “Normally someone would greet you at the door but I just didn't hear anything. “Before I had time to process my thoughts, that's exactly when the masked man put his arm around my neck and mouth... and another one came to the front of me and injected me in my wrists.” When she woke up, Ayling was in the boot of a car with “tape on my mouth and handcuffs on my feet and my hands”. The model also saw an empty suitcase in the boot of the car with her, which she assumed her kidnappers planned to put her in. She was held in the farmhouse near Milan for six days as she tried to convince the men to let her go. Ayling was released on 17 July at the British consulate in Milan, after telling the kidnappers about her child at home. Polish national, Lukasz Herba, and his brother, Michal Herba, were subsequently jailed after an Italian court convicted them of kidnapping Ayling. Ayling’s story will be covered in a six-part BBC series called Kidnapped. Georgia Lester, who worked on Killing Eve, will cover her time in captivity, and the subsequent court case. Lester said: “Every moment that I have spent researching this series and spending time with Chloe, learning about the ordeal she suffered both by the men who abducted her and the people who doubted her, has been shocking and infuriating. “It’s been an honour to work with Chloe and I can’t wait for audiences to finally see her courage, her charm and her unwavering resilience.” The BBC Three series will begin filming later this year. Neil Gaiman shares 'heartbreaking' Sinead O'Connor coincidence hours before her death
Neil Gaiman shares 'heartbreaking' Sinead O'Connor coincidence hours before her death
Sinead O’Connor’s death at age 56 this week has led to an outpouring of grief from both celebrities and normal people whose lives the iconic singer touched. Neil Gaiman, the English novelist, is the latest, having shared a coincidence that occurred hours before O’Connor’s death was announced. Gaiman was at the Golden Notebook bookshop in Woodstock, New York, the writer said, where employees gave him a signed copy of Why Sinead O’Connor Matters by the journalist Allyson McCabe. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter He said he did not personally select the book, but “[t]hey chose it for me.” That same day, on 26 July, O’Connor’s passing was announced publicly. The synopsis of McCabe’s book is as follows: “In 1990, Sinéad O’Connor’s video for “Nothing Compares 2 U” turned her into a superstar. “Two years later, an appearance on Saturday Night Live turned her into a scandal. For many people — including, for years, the author — what they knew of O’Connor stopped there. “Allyson McCabe believes it’s time to reassess our old judgments about Sinéad O’Connor and to expose the machinery that built her up and knocked her down.” Gaiman's fans have responded to the unusual coincidence in their droves. Why Sinead O’Connor Matters was published in May 2023. Have your say in our news democracy. Click the upvote icon at the top of the page to help raise this article through the indy100 rankings.
