Erling Haaland struck twice as holders Manchester City moved a step closer to the Champions League knockout stages with a hard-fought 3-1 win at Young Boys. Haaland put City back into the lead on the artificial surface at Bern’s Wankdorf Stadium after Switzerland international Manuel Akanji’s opener had been brilliantly cancelled out by Meschack Elia. Substitute Julian Alvarez had an effort ruled out by VAR but Haaland made victory certain with a smart finish four minutes from time. The win was City’s third in succession in Group G and they could now secure their spot in their last 16 for an 11th successive year with a follow-up victory over the Swiss side at home in a fortnight. Celtic twice lost the lead but picked up their first Champions League point in a 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid at Celtic Park. Kyogo Furuhashi got the hosts off to a flying start with his second goal in two Champions League games and Luis Palma quickly restored the lead after Antoine Griezmann had equalised from the rebound of his own saved penalty. Celtic were deservedly on course for a first Champions League group-stage home win in 10 years following a first-half display full of pace and purpose but they started slowly after the break and Alvaro Morata levelled inside eight minutes of the restart. The Scottish champions never rediscovered their spark – even after Atletico had Rodrigo Paul sent off in the 82nd minute – and their run without a home win at this level is now at 12 games. Paris Saint-Germain claimed a 3-0 victory over AC Milan in the Champions League to go top of Group F. The Parisians bounced back from their 4-1 defeat to Newcastle earlier this month with strikes from Kylian Mbappe, Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-in. Barcelona moved a step closer to reaching the knockout stages after a 2-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk. Goals from Ferran Torres and Fermin Lopez made it three wins from three for Xavi’s side. There had been much talk over the synthetic pitch in the build-up to the game and heavy rain added another variable element but it proved a free-flowing encounter. Young Boys started well with Filip Ugrinic forcing a save from Ederson before Rodri headed wide from a corner. Jack Grealish, who ignored the persistent booing of the vociferous home crowd, teed up Jeremy Doku with a superb first-time ball but the Belgian slipped as he cut inside and Anthony Racioppi saved. The impressive Swiss keeper denied Haaland soon after but did have a moment of alarm when he spilled a Grealish shot. Matheus Nunes could only poke the loose ball weakly towards goal, however, and Loris Benito cleared off the line. Doku went close again after switching from the right to left wing but Racioppi brilliantly saved his curling effort and blocked a first-time Rodri shot. Young Boys had a good spell before the break with first Cedric Itten breaking clear but failing to beat Ederson. Itten then teed up Sandro Lauper with a neat flick but Nathan Ake got back to block before a powerful Lewin Blum effort was turned behind. Itten went close again from the set-piece as his header dropped narrowly over. While that made for a lively end to the first half, the game truly burst into life early in the second. Akanji and Nunes both had chances before City grabbed the lead in the 48th minute. Rodri delivered a cross into the box and Ruben Dias, still forward following a corner, had a header tipped onto the bar by Racioppi. Akanji reacted the quickest to turn the ball in. City went in immediate search of a second but were caught out after a Haaland shot was saved by Racioppi. The ball was quickly sent to the other end and played into the path of Elia, who caught Ederson stranded off his line with a superb lob. Young Boys were firmly back in the game and Itten forced Ederson into an awkward save with a swerving shot. City stepped up the intensity and were awarded a penalty when Mohamed Ali Camara, moments after being booked, caught Rodri from behind. Haaland stepped up to thump home his 10th of the season. City thought they had claimed another through Alvarez but his low strike was ruled out for a Grealish handball in the build-up. It fell to Haaland to complete the job, the striker wrong-footing the defence just inside the box and then lifting into the top corner. The 26-year-old model spoke candidly about her and Scott’s children – Stormi, five, and Aire, one – during an interview with The Wall Street Journal Magazine, published on 24 October. When asked about co-parenting with the rapper, she said: “It’s going…. I think we’re doing the best job that we can do.” Scott and Jenner first started dating in 2017 and had an off-and-on relationship until January 2023. At the time, a source claimed to Us Weekly that the pair were “off again,” after rekindling their romance for a second time in February 2020. However, the publication also claimed that the former couple was still on good terms, adding: “This has happened so many times before, they’re known to be on-again, off-again, but always remain friends and great co-parents.” Since their split, Scott has shown his support for his ex. In April, he took to the comments of one of her Instagram posts and wrote: “A beauty.” However, fans came up with a different theory in July, with claims that a reference in his song, MELTDOWN”, was about Jenner’s new relationship with Timothée Chalamet, who she’s been romantically linked to since May 2023. At the end of the song’s second verse, Scott raps the lines: “Chocolate AP and chocolate the Vs got the/ Willy Wonka factory (Vs)/ Burn a athlete like it’s calories find another flame/ hot as me, b****.” The mention of Willy Wonka is seemingly in reference to Chalamet’s leading role as Roald Dahl’s famous fictional chocolatier in the forthcoming musical feature film, Wonka. During her interview with WSJ Magazine, the reality star also spoke candidly about motherhood, and how her perspective on beauty standards has changed while raising Stormi. She also described some of the lessons she’s teaching her daughter. “My daughter has totally taught me a lot more about myself, and seeing myself in her has changed everything. I’ve had so much growth and am just embracing natural beauty,” she said. “I’m teaching her about mistakes that I made and making sure she knows she’s just perfect exactly how she is.” The Kardashians star specified that some mistakes she’s made over the years have included getting “surgery when [she] was younger”. She added that while she’s never gotten work done on her face, she still decided to have a breast augmentation, which she’s previously been open about. “But just even getting my breasts done when I was 19 and getting pregnant soon after, not obviously planning to be pregnant at 19,” she said. “And I was never insecure about myself. I actually was always super confident and loved my body. I was just having fun. I was influenced by amazing boobs and was like, that’s what I wanted to do, and had fun with it.” According to the Kylie Beauty founder, her experiences can be lessons for her children. “I probably just should have waited until I maybe had kids or let my body just develop,” she said about the procedure, before adding that motherhood is about “teaching our kids to do better than us, be better versions of who we were”. During the interview, she also spoke about legally changing her son’s name from Wolf Jacques to Aire in 2023, one year after he was born. “That was the hardest thing that I’ve ever done in my life,” she said. “I’m still like: ‘Did I make the right decision?’” She also explained how difficult it was for her to come up with her son’s name shortly after giving birth. “The postpartum hit, and the hormones, and I couldn’t even make a decision or think straight,” she added. “And it just destroyed me. I could not name him. And I was like: ‘I feel like a failure. I don’t have a name for my son.’ So it took me a while.
