Police searching for a lioness in a Berlin suburb have determined there is “no acute danger” to people in the area, as experts conclude it may have been a wild boar. Authorities launched a major search operation after receiving reports during the early hours of Thursday that a wild cat was prowling around the wooded areas of the Kleinmachnow area. A widely-circulated video appeared to show a lioness in the nearby undergrowth, with police telling BBC that they believe the footage to be authentic and identified it as a “big cat”. However, experts who have analysed the video have concluded that the animal was likely to have been a wild boar, which are common in the region. Independently of one another, the experts concluded that “this isn’t a lioness or a wild animal” and that the creature “tends toward a wild boar”. A wide-ranging two-day search failed to turn up signs of the predator, with police only discovering a family of wild boars. Meanwhile, local residents were told to stay indoors and to avoid allowing their pets and children outside. Kleinmachnow Mayor Michael Grubert told reporters that police thoroughly combed woodland on both sides of the state boundary and found no indication at all of a lioness or any wild animal other than wild boars. "We will return to the usual vigilant program and we think there is no acute danger for Kleinmachnow or for the south of Berlin," the mayor said, adding that police would be able to step back up straight away if the situation changes. Grubert defended the large, 36-hour deployment, in which helicopters, drones and infrared cameras were used and vets and hunters participated, as "appropriate." "The danger of a wild animal in Kleinmachnow justifies the deployment," he said, adding that he would act the same way "if I were in the situation today." Around 120 police officers and wildlife experts have been scouring the local wooded areas, with counter-terrorism vehicles, drones and helicopters involved in the search. The news comes after a member of a notorious German crime family offered his help in capturing the suspected lioness, by saying he could “lead the lioness back to her enclosure”. Firas Remmo, the son of the head of the Remmo family, urged authorities not to shoot the creature. The majority of women would consider their partner listening to the Joe Rogan podcast a turn off, according to a new study. It’s become the most popular podcast in the world, with around 11 million listeners per episode, but clearly not everyone is a fan. A new study has been conducted by Change Research involving 1000 people aged between 18-34. They were all asked about their dating preferences, as well as political ideologies and other personality traits. When asked about potential turn offs in prospective partners, 55 per cent of the women involved said that their partner listening to the Joe Rogan Experience podcast would be a “red flag”. Fewer men said the same thing, with only 35 per cent saying that their partner listening to the podcast would be a turn off. The other popular red flags among women included their partner not having any hobbies, with 66 per cent saying it was an undesirable trait. The study also showed that 53 per cent of women said it was a reg flag if their partner refused to watch the Barbie movie. Rogan, incidentally, is one guy who personally can’t understand the backlash to the Barbie movie at all. He surprised haters of the film by revealing he actually really enjoyed it earlier this year. Finally, a total of 41 per cent of men said that they’d be turned off if their partner was into astrology as part of the study. Whoopi Goldberg has hit back at previous criticism of her infamous outfit choice during the ‘90s. During an interview with Page Six Style at the Fashion Group International Night of Stars gala, Goldberg spoke candidly about her look at the 1993 Oscars: A purple and green bejeweled jumpsuit paired with a puffy, long purple jacket with a bright green interior. She completed the outfit with green earrings and heels, and dark purple lipstick. Goldberg went on to recall that when she was hit with backlash for the bold look, she was stung by the criticism. “Everyone hated [it],” she said. “It hurt my feelings, I’m not going to lie. It hurt my feelings.” The View host also confessed that the response to the outfit would go on to affect the way she dressed. “It kept me from dressing up for a very long time,” she said. “You have to remember, in those days, they would say things and you’d think, ‘Do I really look that ridiculous?’” However, she still opened up about the inspiration behind the outfit, specifying that it came from the iconic I Love Lucy sitcom and its lead, the late Lucille Ball. “Lucy would always come out in these great ensembles,” Goldberg said. “And I thought, I would like to wear that! And green is not a color I would normally wear; let me try it.” When asked if she still stands by her decision to wear the bold look at the 1993 Oscars, she simply said: “Absolutely.” Over the years, Goldberg has gone on to embrace her own sense of style, launching her own clothing line, Dubgee, in 2019. Speaking to InStyle about the brand – which sells a range of stretchy jeans and hoodies – she shared her candid thoughts about fashion, expressing that people shouldn’t let their age determine what types of clothes they wear. “People will always say to somebody young, ‘Oh, you’re dressing so old,’ and they will say to an older woman, ‘Oh, you’re dressing too young,’” she told the publication in 2019. “The clothes that we made, you could be 21 and wear it, you could be 65 and wear it, you could be whatever age you are and look good in it. And feel good in it. You’re not too old to wear anything that makes you happy. That’s the key. The only important voice, ever, is your own.” In July of this year, the Sister Act star also made headlines for her shoe choice on The View: A pair of clear platforms with decapitated heads of Barbie dolls in them.
