Oregon State fans aren't too happy with Jonathan Smith these days. Leading up to the 2023 Civil War, arguably OSU's biggest game in a decade, reports dropped that Smith was the favorite to be named the new head coach at Michigan State.
This no question was a major distraction for the team and Oregon took advantage: the Ducks went on to post a huge victory over their rivals. To make matters worse for people in Corvallis, Smith revealed that he knew for quite some time that he wouldn't return to the team. Ouch:
Smith is ready to hit the ground running and help MSU get back to a strong level of contention. That's all good and well, but you can't blame people at Oregon State for the way he handled his exit. Smith delivered some great memories for fans and alumni, but they're sure disappointed right now.
