NEW YORK, NEW YORK: The audience of 'The View' may know Whoopi Goldberg primarily for her temper tantrums and outrageous comments. However, viewers witnessed a rare moment when she gushed and cheered for 'Ted Lasso' star Nick Mohammed. The Apple TV + star stopped by the talk show and was immediately grateful to the crew for inviting him.
Whoopi was more excited than her co-hosts as she kept cheering for him before he quietly sat down. Whoopi could not contain her excitement when she saw the star in person and immediately apologized for not pulling herself together when he entered the room.
Whoopi Goldberg goes from being an EGOT to fangirl
Although Whoopi is known for occasionally losing her temper and has often claimed to be disinterested in certain conversations on the show, she was overjoyed to see Nick. As an EGOT winner herself, it's rare to see such a talent rave about one of the most popular characters in recent memory. Even though the character Nathan Shelley has taken a different course since the end of the second season, he gradually became likable and occasionally unlikeable in terms of his actions. It's comparable to Whoopi's own presence on 'The View,' who is extremely likable, opinionated, and yet controversial on certain occasions.
A moment for 'The View' moderators
Co-host Sara Haines confessed that the moderators were equally big fans of 'Ted Lasso' and Nick's character Nathan Shelley. It's safe to say that Whoopi was not the only one who kept her excitement about Nick's performance in check. Whoopi even said that she thought he was 'so fabulous' on the show, which immediately prompted Nick to express gratitude. With both the hosts and crew repeatedly expressing their excitement, the evidence of 'Ted Lasso' star's popularity only grows stronger.
The Season 3 finale of 'Ted Lasso' aired on May 30 with the lead actor Jason Sudeikis promptly hinting at the end of the show. Whoops! It is likely that Goldberg may not be seeing more of Nick's 'Nathan Shelley' for a while at least.
