WWE hosts the 36th edition of SummerSlam live from Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. on Saturday, Aug. 5. Here are the full live results and highlights from the big event.
Last year, WWE SummerSlam had its fair share of excitement. From the chaotic Last Man Standing match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, to the returns of Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai. It was an event to remember. Now, WWE has the chance to top themselves again.
On Saturday, Aug. 5, WWE presents SummerSlam, live from Ford Field in Detroit, Mich., home of the NFL's Lions. The event has eight matches scheduled, four of which will be contested for championships.
The main event is set to be Reigns defending his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against his cousin Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat match. Reigns has held onto the title since Aug. 2020, but Uso became the first person to pin him since December 2019 at the Money in the Bank event last month.
Other title matches set for the show are Gunther defending the Intercontinental Championship against Drew McIntyre, WWE Women's Champion Asuka facing off against Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat match, and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins taking on Finn Balor.
Rounding out the card are Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler in an MMA Rules match, Logan Paul vs. Ricochet, and the SummerSlam battle royal.
