MAUI, HAWAII: 93 people have reportedly died due to the horrific flames that ravaged the Hawaiian island of Maui, according to the reports of BBC.

In its most recent press release, the county stated that firefighters are still battling fires and putting out flare-ups in Lahaina, upcountry Maui, and close to Pulehu and Kihei.

As additional pictures and videos of the destruction of the Hawaiian island become public, celebrities, including Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos, have come forward, offering their assistance to alleviate the situation.

'Rush Hour 3' star Mia Tyler, the daughter of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, announced that she was vacationing in Maui with her son Axton, 6 when the deadly wildfires engulfed the Hawaiian island.

Sharing her personal experience of the calamity, Mia wrote that it was "way worse than what you saw on the news and online."

Mia was vacationing in Maui with her son when the tragic wildfire engulfed the Hawaiian island that began on Tuesday, 8 August, as per PEOPLE Magazine.

The 'Rush Hour 3' star, 44, added an Instagram Story update on Saturday, August 12, in which she informed that she and her son Axton, 6, had successfully booked a trip out of Maui.

Mia also went on to post a picture of the damage on Front Street in Lahaina with the caption, "I don't know where to start."

"Halfway through our vacation on Maui we got news that a horrible fire had started an hour north of us," Mia added in her emotional Instagram post, adding, "I don’t need to tell you what happened next. All I can say is, it was way worse than what you saw on the news and online."

Mia continued by describing the destruction she had seen, writing, "Many people and animals have lost their lives. Homes destroyed. Sacred buildings burnt to ashes."

"Thousand of locals and tourists displaced. And the horrors those people had to see and experience," stated Mia.

Claiming to feel despondent about the situation and let her followers know that she was "trying to keep my family and friends safe."

"We were in a sacred paradise and could do nothing," noted Mia, adding that they made it home late on August 11.

Mia Tyler pleads people not to travel to Maui

Later, Mia took to Instagram to fervently urge people to donate money for relief operations rather than make plans to visit Maui, writing, "PLEASE DO NOT TRAVEL TO MAUI, as the hotels are helping to home the people of Maui."

"The island needs to heal and does not need tourists taking up valuable resources right now," she penned, as per PEOPLE Magazine, adding, "The only thing we can do is donate to these wonderful people that need us the most right now. Please help. Any penny helps."

She ended her solemn message by saying, "I pray this land heals and comes back stronger like it always does," hoping that the island can recover from the catastrophe as early as possible.
