Why was Kodak Black arrested in Florida again?

Rapper Kodak Black had to briefly stop at a Florida jail on Monday, according to his lawyer Bradford Cohen. The visit was a result of the rapper failing to check-in with the authorities and take mandatory urine tests as part of his pretrial release for a prescription drug case. Cohen argued in court to loosen the supervision requirements, which the judge agreed to. However, he raised Kodak's bond from $75,000 to $250,000. As a result, Kodak had to go through the booking process again, take a new mugshot at Broward County jail, and pay $175,000 to cover the difference in bond amounts. Despite the increased bond, Cohen sees it as a victory for Kodak since he can now travel and go on tours without the burden of regular check-ins, as reported by TMZ.

Kodak Black was caught trafficking drugs

Kodak Black was initially arrested in July 2022 in Florida when police discovered dozens of oxycodone pills in his possession. The arrest occurred after officers pulled him over for driving a Dodge Durango with an illegal window tint. Authorities detected a marijuana odor in his vehicle, leading to a search that resulted in the seizure of 31 oxycodone pills and $74,960 in cash. Additionally, it was found that his license and registration had expired. Kodak was subsequently taken to Broward County jail on undisclosed charges.

The incident adds to his prior legal issues, which included previous incarcerations for offenses such as auto theft during his middle school years. In 2019, he was arrested and sentenced to four years for weapons possession, but his sentence was later reduced by the intervention of former President Donald Trump.
