Why was Dolly Parton offended by Sylvester Stallone? Singer once called him an ‘ungrateful son of a b***h’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The country music legend Dolly Parton was a part of the not-so-memorable movie 'Rhinestone' which was released in 1984, and her co-star in the project was the Hollywood behemoth Sylvester Stallone. Even though the movie didn't perform well at the box office, it started the famous friendship between the '9 to 5' singer and the 'Rocky' star.

The duo had several fun-filled moments on the film's set, which both of them have shared in multiple interviews. However, there was one incident where the two pals were seemingly not on the same page, with the 'Jolene' songstress being so offended that she shouted at the 'Creed' actor. In her autobiography, 'Dolly: My Life and Other Unfinished Business', Parton, 77, narrated the incident in detail.

'You ungrateful son of a b****'

Parton described an event from a shoot scheduled at night, writing, "There was garbage everywhere and big rats running around," before elaborating, "We were working all night, and it was that New York kind of damp cold. I noticed a man lying there next to some garbage, and he was shivering. We had a big heater and blankets on the set. So I thought I'd go back there and get warm and put a heavy shawl I was wearing around this poor man. I didn't realize anybody was watching."

However, she was wrong, as the 'Rambo' actor was nearby and was, in fact, observing her. "Just as I wrapped the shawl around the man, Stallone walked up and jerked it away," Parton wrote, adding, "'Don't you put that good shawl over that scum!' he said. 'He could have made something of himself. We did'," This rightfully angered the country music star, who gave an earful to Stallone. Parton recollected castigating the 'First Blood' actor, as she stated, "Well, you could have knocked me over with an angel feather."

The singer further noted, "I couldn't believe what a man I considered a friend was saying. I grabbed the shawl back from him and wrapped it back around the man. Then I stood up right in Sly's face and said, 'Hey, look! That could have been you, you ungrateful son of a b****! Except by the grace of God. Who knows. It could be an angel sent to show you what an a** you really are. At least he's one of God's creatures, and that's good enough for me'," as reported by Cheatsheet.

After Parton pointed out his fault, Stallone seemed to have been corrected in his ways. The 'Rainbowland' singer writes in her book that on the following day, she heard that Stallone gave the unfortunate man a blanket. Moreover, the singer wrote, "Sylvester Stallone made me laugh at a time when I really needed it," adding that even though 'Rhinestone' was a failure, the movie was "not at all bad" for her.

Charities of Sylvester Stallone

Getting bashed by the music legend seemed to have taught the actor and filmmaker some lessons. Over the years, Sly has attached himself to numerous charitable organizations to help with fundraising. The actor once raised about $80,240 (£62,500) for the fight against diabetes, as per Daily Express. In another instance, the 'Tulsa King' star auctioned almost 1400 props from his entire film career to raise money to donate to charities that would benefit wounded servicemen and US veterans, according to Bleacher Report.
