The return of European football means a number of Premier League teams must get used to their Thursday-Sunday schedules for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.

Liverpool reached the Europa League instead of the Champions League due to a fifth-placed finish last term and are joined in that competition by fellow English sides Brighton and West Ham.

Aston Villa are the sole Europa Conference League representatives from the Premier League, resulting in an even split of five games apiece on Saturday and Sunday in Gameweek 6.

However, only two of the five games scheduled will be shown live by United Kingdom broadcasters.

Premier League Gameweek 6 television schedule

Four games kick off at 14:00 (BST) on Sunday. Brighton host Bournemouth, Aston Villa visit Chelsea and Liverpool entertain West Ham, but broadcasters unsurprisingly opted to pick the north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham for live coverage.

Chelsea's clash with Villa was originally scheduled for Saturday but Unai Emery's side's involvement in Europe's third-tier competition meant it was moved to Sunday. The Villans lost 3-2 to Legia Warsaw in Poland on Thursday night.

The Blues are not in European competition this season after finishing 12th in 2022/23, with new boss Mauricio Pochettino still searching for his ideal lineup after taking over in the summer.

Liverpool and West Ham were both involved in Europa League action ahead of their fixture at Anfield and were given an extra day's rest each, while Brighton are in the same position after their first ever game in Europe, a surprise 3-2 defeat to AEK Athens at the AMEX.

Sunday's late game is between Sheffield United and Newcastle at 16:30, meaning four of the ten league matches in the round will shown live in the UK.

There was no early kick-off on Saturday with three games played at 15:00 - Crystal Palace 0-0 Fulham, Luton 1-1 Wolves and Manchester City 2-0 Nottingham Forest - before TV crews captured away wins for Everton at Brentford and Manchester United at Burnley respectively.

The 12:30 game will return in Gameweek 7 when Villa visit Brighton before an enticing evening kick-off which sees Liverpool travel to Tottenham.
