LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The View’ has welcomed several guests over the last two decades, and not everyone has been applauded by the fans. While co-hosts keep their interactions with the audience positive, there are times things need to be bent a little. Most recently, Republican Senator Tim Scott appeared on ‘The View’ and there was an array of debates, all civilized and tame. However, the ones who misbehaved in this segment were the audience.
Whoopi Goldberg had enough as she stepped in to address the audience mid-conversation, letting them know it wasn’t okay. The other co-hosts, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin then continued their conversation with Scott, with the audience being on their best behavior, all thanks to Goldberg.
‘This is The View’
With Tim Scott on ‘The View’ things are bound to get a little heated, but the co-hosts and Scott made it as civil as they possibly could while exchanging their political views and the political climate of the US. The audience on this live segment seemed agitated, as opposed to the collected co-hosts, and began booing Scott. There is only so much Goldberg can take before she stepped in and snapped at the audience. She had to briefly pause the discussion and point to the audience, “No, no, not here.” This insulated that this live segment wasn’t the place for the audience to boo ‘The View’s guests.
Goldberg went on to say, “Do not boo! This is The View. We accept we don’t have to believe everything people will say, but you cannot boo people here. Please. You cannot do it.” The audience eventually changed their demeanor, applauding Goldberg for defending ‘The View’ and its guests.
A welcome change from Goldberg
Recently, Goldberg has been off her game when it comes to ‘The View', from tearing up cue cards to giving lap dances to her fellow co-hosts. She has often seemed disinterested and removed herself from conversations that don’t sit too well with her. This is why when Goldberg actually stoop up for ‘The View’ it left a good taste in the audience who cheered her. Goldberg remains unpredictable, and she could go back to her distasteful antics on ‘The View’ but for the Tim Scott segment, which was an important one, she was team ‘The View,’ through and through!
