PLAINSBORO, NEW JERSEY: IT professionals Taj Pratap Singh, 43, his wife Sonal Parihar, 42, and their two children, aged 10 and 6, were found dead, in a possible murder-suicide in the quiet suburban community of Plainsboro, New Jersey, in their Titus Lane home.

The grisly discovery was made around 4:30 pm when a concerned relative called the authorities for a welfare check on the Singh-Parihar residence. The Plainsboro Police Department swiftly responded, and what they found left them baffled and horrified.

Authorities seek answers in the Singh-Parihar family tragedy

Initial suspicions point towards a possible murder-suicide, but authorities are conducting a thorough homicide investigation to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Crime scene tape now cordons off the perimeter of the once-peaceful blue-painted home in suburban Middlesex County, as investigators delve into the mysterious circumstances surrounding this family's tragic demise.

For friends and relatives who had known the Singh-Parihar family, the news came as a devastating shock. Many expressed their disbelief, describing the couple as a "happy couple," CBS reports.

Both Pratap Singh and Sonal were professionals in the field of Information Technology (IT), with one of them also working in Human Resources. Singh, according to his LinkedIn profile, held the position of Lead APIX Engineer at Ness Digital Engineering.

The Singh-Parihar family's commitment to Plainsboro

Beyond their professional lives, the family was deeply engaged in their local community. Pratap Singh was an active member of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) at his children's school, reflecting his dedication to his family and the community around him.

Records show that the couple purchased their Titus Lane home in August 2018 for $635,000, indicating their intent to settle down and build a life in the tranquil neighborhood.

Superintendent David Aderhold from the West-Windsor Plainsboro district expressed his condolences, saying, "The district was informed by local law enforcement of a horrific tragedy involving one of our Plainsboro families with a Wicoff student and a Millstone River School student."

As the investigation unfolds, the Plainsboro Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office have joined forces to piece together the puzzle of what transpired within the Singh-Parihar home.
