LONG VIEW, NORTH CAROLINA: Jeter Edward “Eddie” Greene a 26-year-old man was found dead inside his work van in Long View North Carolina, in 2008.

Now after 15 years, police claim they have arrested his killers.

Who are the men behind Edward Greene's murder?

On September 18, a Catawba County grand jury indicted Emandalae Diontae Tolbert, 31, Anthony Maurice Tucker, 37, Jamar Quarmaine Propst, 33, and Pierre Demond Ramseur, 33, for Greene’s murder.

All have been charged with one count of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, the Long View Police Department said in a press release.

“Criminal charges in this investigation demonstrate that justice has no time limit, and today we are one step closer for justice for Eddie,” Long View Police Chief TJ Bates said at the press conference on Friday as reported Hickory Daily Record.

How was Edward Greene killed?

Edward Greene, a successful mason and business owner, was brutally murdered on Oct 3, 2008.

His family suspects that he was robbed after paying his employees, as he usually carried some extra cash with him.

His body was discovered inside his van, which he used for his Eddie’s Masonry business.

He had been running the business for nine years, employing several people in Long View, a small town in North Carolina.

How does his family remember him?

“Eddie was a hard worker,” his mother, Wilma Yount said in a press conference per Law&Crime.

“He worked for everything that he had. Himself. He paid for. We didn’t give it to him," Yount continued.

She added, "He worked from daylight to dark every day. Seven days a week most of the time. And when work got slow, he would get out and find himself a new one.

"He wouldn’t sit around and not do anything. These people don’t know what they’ve done to us," she said, adding, “Me and Eddie were really close.”

Yount said, “He was my baby, and he didn’t mind telling anyone he was my baby. Our life’s torn terribly. It’s not been the same since we lost him.”

How did the police catch alleged killers?

The police have been suspecting foul play since the day Edward was found dead. Even after processing the crime scene with assistance from the State Bureau of Investigation the case eventually died.

The LVPD investigators reopened the case in April 2020 again taking assistance from state law enforcement.

Police have not detained on evidence and investigation part but believe Tolbert, Tucker, Propst, and Ramseur shot and killed Greene amid a robbery.

They say at least one of the alleged killers knew Eddie.
