MARIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA: Dylan Baylacq, a 21-year-old inmate at the Marin County Jail arrested for several charges, including domestic violence and terrorist threats, was found dead in his cell on October 1, according to Hoodline.

Preliminary evidence has suggested the cause of death to be hanging. As per sources, jail officials have sought the help of the Novato Police Department to investigate the case.

The Novato Police Department has stated that they will be working closely with the Sonoma County Coroner's Office to probe into Baylacq's death.

Dylan Baylacq has been an inmate of the Marin County Jail since August 27

Dylan Baylacq, a resident of Forest Knolls, was arrested on several charges, which included suspicion of domestic violence, terrorist threats, being under the influence of a controlled substance, damaging a wireless device, and resisting arrest, according to the report of Novato Police Department.

He was found hanging in his cell at about 2.30 am by a deputy performing a routine check, and San Rafael firefighters were called to perform lifesaving measures. Marin County Sheriff’s Office stated that the inmate was declared dead at about 3.30 am, as per the Marin Independent Journal.

The autopsy of Baylacq is to be conducted by the coroner’s division of the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.

Police have stated that no further information would be disclosed at this point to avoid disruption of the investigative process.

Fundraiser organized for Dylan Baylacq's family

An online fundraiser at the GoFundMe platform was set up by a person named Heather Richardson to support Dylan Baylacq's family.

The information provided in the campaign paints a very different picture of the inmate who has been accused of multiple crimes.

"Dylan was a force; he was the greatest love, the strongest heart, giver of the biggest hugs. He never left the scene without saying, 'I love you.' He was helpful, generous, kind, adventurous, and the fiercest defender of his people," reads the description, adding, "Dylan was a son to us all, a brother to our children."

The message goes on to state that the funds "will help with end of life logistics, cost of daily life to allow Ang and Miles (Baylacq's family) to focus solely on their process, and plans for a celebration of life, date to be determined in the coming days. Any remaining funds will be distributed to local, San Geronimo Valley organizations."

At the time of writing, the campaign has already raised over $22,000 of the initial goal of $10,000.
