LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Ross Goodman, defense attorney of Duane 'Keefe D' Davis, the suspect in rapper Tupac Shakur killing, said Davis 'will walk free' soon.

On October 19, Goodman told The US Sun that Davis "could escape conviction."

The Las Vegas police took the 60-year-old convict into custody on September 29, 27 years after the crime.

According to prosecutors, Davis ordered the murder of Shakur in 1996. He is accused of planning and facilitating a drive-by shooting that killed Shakur.

The 25-year-old rapper died on September 13, 1996, six days after a gunman shot him at a stoplight in Las Vegas.

The Clark County District Attorney will present the Shakur murder case before the Las Vegas Grand Jury.

Who is Ross Goodman?

Goodman is known for handling high-profile cases. He is the son of Oscar B Goodman, a leading criminal defense attorney in the country.

According to his website, Goodman, who served as a Major in the US Marine Corps, has a legal career spanning 35 years.

He comes from a well-known political family in Las Vegas. He has represented mobsters, athletes, and other famous clients. His father is a former Las Vegas Mayor, and his mother, Carolyn Goodman, is the current Mayor.

Goodman told the Associated Press on October 19 that he would appear in defense against the accusations being made about Davis.

Ross Goodman is optimistic about Tupac Shakur murder trial

"There's no gun, there's no car and there's no witnesses from 27 years ago," said Goodman to the reporters.

The attorney says it is a "circumstantial case along with his statements," as per the US Sun.

He added that the prosecution would have to try hard to convince the jury because "you have to have something other than somebody's statement to establish that that person is guilty of the killing or the murder."

Goodman also said his client was "going to enter a plea of not guilty" at the next arraignment on November 2.

"His spirits were fine given the conditions he is under right now," he added.

"He has been in custody since he got arrested at his house," Goodman told the press.

Lawyer Ross Goodman says 'you could say that you shot Tupac Shakur'

The attorney seemed optimistic when asked about the strength of his defense.

"There has to be some circumstantial evidence to support what somebody is saying. Otherwise you could say that you shot Tupac Shakur."

"I understand that a lot of people are taking credit for shooting Tupac and they are not charged with murder. You have to have something other than somebody's statement to establish that that person is guilty of the killing or the murder," he stated.

The attorney further points out that the absence of a gun, car, or witness from Shakur's murder site weakens the prosecution's case.
