Who is Ricardo Orozco? Michigan man charged with murder of wife whose body was found in his car parked at gas station

WARREN, MICHIGAN: Ricardo Orozco, a 56-year-old man, is now facing a felony charge of second-degree murder for the alleged murder of his wife whose body was left in his car at a local gas station.

Orozco was arraigned on second-degree murder charges with a judge setting his bond amount at $2 million cash or surety, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.

What led to the murder of Ricardo Orozco's wife?

On September 30, officers of the Warren Police Department responded to a report about an incident at a gas station and spotted Orozco in the driver's seat of his Dodge Durango, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office.

Cops discovered his wife's body was found in the back seat of the vehicle. It was determined that woman died from apparent stab injuries.

Ricardo Orozoc was reportedly covered in blood while seeking help at gas station

Orozco was taken into custody by the cops following the tragic incident. On October 1, he was booked into the Macomb County Jail, reported True Crime Daily.

If the suspect posts the bail amount, he will be monitored further and will be required to wear a GPS monitor and surrender his passport.

Upon arriving at the gas station, Orozco reportedly approached the station attendent and informed him of his wife's dire condition saying she was bleeding in his vehicle.

According to witnesses, he was seen covered in blood and was apparently intoxicated at the time, reported the Detroit Free Press.

Speaking to the outlet, Police Commissioner William Dwyer said that the victim was likely killed at another location before her body was transported to Warren.

Investigators reportedly discovered a hunting knife on the floorboard of Orozco's vehicle, possibly used in the crime.

Ricardo Orozco and his wife had a 'violent history'

The suspect allegedly made "multiple admissions to killing" the victim. Orozco and his wife who has not been publicly identifed had a "violent history," according to Dwyer.

The police commissioner further added that his wife's body was wet and apparently had sand on her.

This finding led the investigators to believe the victim and the suspect could have spend time at the beach earlier that day before the alleged murder took place.

In his statement following the incident, Prosecutor Peter Lucido said, "This tragic event has destroyed a family. October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, let’s remember that violence is never the answer," reported CBS News.
