CINCINNATI, OHIO: An Ohio woman named Molly Kerbs who was previously allowed to attend the funeral of her three-year-old son has now pleaded guilty to the child's untimely death in 2022.

On Wednesday, September 13, the 28-year-old woman who was charged in her son's death admitted guilt to one count of involuntary manslaughter in the death of her son Jayden Krebs during her appearance in Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas.

In December 2022, Krebs pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment.

The child endangerment charge was later dropped by the Hamilton County District Attorney's Office in exchange for Krebs pleading to the manslaughter charge, reports Law and Crime.

What was Molly Kreb's motive behind killing her son?

On December 1, 2022, the Cincinnati Police Officers responded to an emergency call at an Avondale residence, according to CPD's press release.

Police mentioned that Krebs confessed that she left the child in the bathtub for "a long period of time.

The first responders who found the child immediately shifted him to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. However, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the hospital.

The child's mother was taken into custody by CPD officers, the CPD Homicide Unit, and agents from the Fugitive Apprehension Squad.

Police explained that Krebs admitted to leaving the child in the bathtub unattended for “a long period of time,” according to a copy of the probable cause affidavit obtained by Cincinnati ABC affiliate WCPO.

During an interview with the investigators, Krebs stated that Jayden had an allergic reaction to something. She revealed that she had been working all day for a painting and construction company.

Krebs' helped Jayden treat the allergic reaction by giving him a dose of Benadryl. She left the bathroom and fell asleep after she put her son in the bathtub.

According to authorities, Krebs failed to check on her son at least 90 times, according to Fox affiliate WXIX-TV

Krebs found the boy "laying, partially submerged and unresponsive" in the bathtub and dialed 911 after she woke up and checked on him, according to the outlet.

"You can see her devastation," said a source. Since her arrest in 2009, she has been in detention and was granted permission by a Hamilton County judge to attend her young son's funeral on December 19, 2022, and is set to appear for sentencing, reports Law and Crime.
