LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Clint Eastwood — the man, the myth, the legend — is a marvelous Hollywood veteran whose illustrious career has been distinguished by peculiar eras in which he starred and directed many blockbusters. The acclaimed actor, 93, rose to indelible fame with his dynamic performance in the 'Dollars Trilogy'. Over the course of his lengthy career, Eastwood delivered a string of classic hits including ‘The Bridges of Madison County’, 'Million Dollar Baby', and 'Magnum Force'.
Apart from his acting and direction marvels, Eastwood is also known for his long, high profile romantic life, where he had ties with a number of gorgeous divas. In the 1950s, when Eastwood first appeared on the Hollywood scene, he had just gotten hitched to his first wife, Maggie Johnson. The couple got married in 1953 and stayed together for three decades before filing for divorce in 1984. Their marriage ends up being his longest relationship to date, despite having its fair share of ups and downs, as well as his few affairs.
The 'Changeling' producer’s many romances saw him welcoming eight children with six women, including Johnson, 'Titanic' actress Frances Fisher, and his second wife, Dina Eastwood, among others. Dina and Clint’s marriage lasted over 17 years. In the end, their marriage resulted in a divorce in 2014, but since then, Eastwood has moved on. Following the divorce, the actor found love in his current partner Christina Sandera, who is 33 years younger than him. This is the first time when Eastwood chose to date someone who did not share his stardom or his incessant attention.
How did Clint Eastwood and Christina Sandera meet?
The ‘Gran Torino’ star met Sandera for the first time while she was working as a hostess at the Mission Ranch Hotel, a place Eastwood owns since 1986. The couple reportedly met in 2014 when Sandera was involved in a messy divorce with her ex-husband, one that included domestic violence claims. The lovebirds have been together for more than eight years and Sandera has successfully managed to win over the acting legend’s heart. "He's truly happy with her. She's fun and easygoing, and his kids like her, too. She's on an even keel like he is,” a source told Closer Weekly while reflecting on their romance.
Despite their shared love and respect for one another, Eastwood has publicly said that he won't exchange vows with Sandera. "Clint doesn't see any point in marrying again. He loves Christina, but marriage isn't something he needs,” the source continued. Away from showbiz, the couple currently lives at the Mission Ranch Hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, on the Monterey peninsula where Eastwood has lived for decades. Built in early 1850, the ranch was on the verge of collapsing when Eastwood bought it.
'I kind of adopted Carmel'
Since then, Eastwood has made several improvements to the property, which now features the most picturesque vistas in California, with 31 opulent guest rooms, and a newly refurbished restaurant and bar. As per reports, the property was a dairy farm and the Fort Ord officers' club prior to becoming a low-key restaurant and guesthouse. But Eastwood was instantly smitten by the property when he first saw it.
"The first time I saw the place, I thought it was terrific. Visually it was something else, and I thought it was the place I'd like to call home. So I kind of adopted Carmel,” he told Architectural Digest. After becoming a well-known movie actor, he went back, acquired the ranch, and started renovating the place to make it a home for himself and anybody else who wanted to take a few days off work to relax and take in the beauty. It is also crucial to note that Eastwood was once the Carmel town mayor. "I had always loved the place, and they were just going to flatten it. They said it was obsolete. I thought it should be preserved as what it was,” the actor recently said.
