SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA: The aunt of a 14-year-old girl who reportedly disappeared from her grandmother's house on June 9 before being found on June 28 has alleged that she was raped by a Marine. The teenager who has learning disabilities allegedly ran away from home and was reported missing four days later by her grandmother to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The girl's name has not been released yet.
Melissa Aquino, SDSO's media relations officer, told NBC 7, San Diego, “The grandmother reported to deputies that the teen had previously run away before, but always returned home quickly.” Ultimately, military police discovered the girl inside the barracks at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in San Diego. But now her aunt, Casaundra Perez, has accused a Marine of sexually abusing her niece. “She was found in the barracks by military police. She had been sold to a soldier for sex,” Perez said in a TikTok video.

As mentioned earlier, Perez is the aunt of the teen girl who disappeared in early June. According to a TikTok page, she said, “I would just like to preface this video, I did not kill myself, if I go missing or end up murdered the people potentially responsible could possibly be located here at Camp Pendleton.”
She went on to further claim, “The reality is the whole facility allowed this to happen. The security looked her in the face and allowed this man to bring a minor onto the base where he then proceeded to have sex with her. Due to her age, she could not have given this consent.” The aunt has also reportedly insisted that the "military detective" probing the case has been trying to cover up the alleged crime.
‘The incident is under investigation’
Meanwhile, it has been said that on July 2, military police arrested a Marine with Combat Logistics Battalion 5, 1st Marine Logistics Group, in relation to the girl’s alleged rape case. Captain Palmer reportedly shared, “We can confirm that a Marine with Combat Logistics Battalion 5, 1st Marine Logistics Group was taken into custody for questioning by Naval Criminal Investigative Services on June 28, 2023, as seen on social media July 2, 2023. The incident is under investigation, and we will continue to cooperate with NCIS and appropriate authorities.”
But as per Perez, the suspect is yet to face any charges and she also wants his name to be out in public. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which is also working on the case, added, “Out of respect for the investigative process, NCIS does not comment on, confirm details relating to, or confirm the existence of ongoing investigations.”
