KARLOVY VARY, CZECH REPUBLIC: Ewan McGregor, known for his movies, possesses a sense of humor that extends to his own work. During the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, the 52-year-old actor admitted to enjoying the comedic aspects of a memorable scene from 'Trainspotting', which he shared with his children.
Although he wasn't present when his daughter Clara first watched the film, McGregor revealed to Variety that he used to show his kids "the toilet scene" just for laughs. He further revealed, “It’s a unique situation, perhaps, for a father to be able to show his children footage of him going down the toilet."

McGregor's eldest daughter
McGregor also reminisced about showing his eldest daughter, fellow actor Clara McGregor (26). He reminisced, “I think she was 9 years old. I put it on, and then I hear this wailing and crying. I rushed in, asking if I should switch it off and she went: ‘Noooo!'."
McGregor is a father to Clara (26), Anouck (11), Esther (20), and Jamyan (20), from his previous marriage to Eve Mavrakis, and he has a son named Laurie (2) with Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Recently, the father and daughter duo collaborated on Emma Westenberg's film 'You Sing Loud, I Sing Louder', an experience McGregor described as beautiful. “We had an opportunity to spend that period of time really together, which is unusual. Day one, we arrived and saw each other at the make-up truck and chit-chatted. From that moment on, it was natural and just… normal. It allowed us to be together."
‘You are finding that moment of truth’
They played a father and daughter trying to mend their relationship amidst challenges, and both emphasized that it didn't feel awkward to assume those roles. According to McGregor, “You don’t act in front of your daughter and you don’t act in front of your dad. You act with them and that’s the beauty of it," he said.
"You are finding that moment of truth. When you do that with someone you know and love as much as you love your own daughter, it’s extraordinary. It never felt anything other than free and wonderful." Clara said at the press conference, “I have always appreciated and looked up to my father’s acting. This just gave me a deeper appreciation of that."
