Known for his playful jabs, the game show host became increasingly exasperated with the participants' mistakes. During the Triple Toss-Up round under the category "What are you doing?", the contestants attempted to complete a given phrase. Debbie and her granddaughter Sarah quickly buzzed in to complete the phrase, even though only two letters of the first puzzle had been revealed. When Debbie guessed "Taking a nap," Pat replied with a firm "No…no" while allowing the puzzle to continue for the others. Meanwhile, contestants Gloria and her grandson Isaiah correctly answered, "Hailing a cab," prompting Pat to jokingly express his preference for that answer, saying, “I like the 'Taking a nap' one better.”

Despite this, Debbie buzzed in again and guessed "Catching a fish," to which Pat responded with a quizzical "No?" and a playful remark about the connection between naps and fishing adding, “Something to do when you get up from your nap”. The correct answer was eventually given by Gloria and Isaiah. Later, when the contestant incorrectly guessed "Catching an Uber," Pat sarcastically questioned, “Why are you bothering”, and encouraged the other players to participate, Towards the end of the episode, Pat attempted to lighten the mood by telling the contestant that he could enjoy listening to her solve Toss-Ups all night long.

‘Do you want to play the game’

During another recent episode, Pat found himself overwhelmed by a lively group of contestants including Aja, a baker from Phoenix, Heather, a mom from California, and Ben, also from California. Aja guessed the first tossup puzzle as "Extreme sport" instead of "Extreme Sports," prompting laughter from Pat who jokingly said, "I love that, we'll get to that when we talk to you." Pat engaged in banter with Ben, the curly-haired contestant who greeted him with the playful question, "What's shakin' bacon?" Pat replied, "I knew you would be trouble."

Ben described himself as a newlywed who enjoys traveling the world and watching professional wrestling when the occasion calls for it. Pat playfully turned to the off-camera producers, saying, "Can we have the actual players?" Pat then turned to Aja, complimenting her solution while noting her initial mistake of leaving out the 'S' and adding it later. Pat concluded with a playful remark, asking, "Do you want to play the game or all just go out for a beer?" In the bonus round, Ben struggled to solve the puzzle "Taking a quick jog" and implied that jogging didn't fit the "fun and games" category. Pat responded with a light-hearted comment, saying, "That wasn't bad!"
