December is a pretty big month on Disney+, with new Marvel animation, the new Percy Jackson series, K-drama, and much more. If you're not working during the holidays, get ready to binge. Here are our picks for the best new content streaming on Disney+ as we wind down 2023.
Doctor Who: Wild Blue Yonder (Dec. 2)
We had no idea that Disney+ snagged the streaming rights to new Doctor Who, but all three of this year's holiday specials are streaming throughout the month. David Tennant returns as the Fourteenth Doctor and Neil Patrick Harris makes his debut as a new villain, the Toymaker.
Soundtrack #2 (Dec. 6)
Disney+ is finally jumping on the K-drama trend with Soundtrack #2, a series about a young couple who dated for six years and played in a band together, broke up, and were then re-united while working on a project. The first season was a big success, so this one should do well.
Percy Jackson & The Olympians Season 1 (Dec. 20)
Rick Riordan's young adult mythological adventure series has a huge fan base despite being adapted into a mediocre movie. This new series has a lot of buzz around it, and Riordan has creative control so it'll hew closer to the novels.
Marvel Studios' 'What If...?' Season 2 (Dec. 22)
One of the more satisfying Disney+ MCU offerings, What If...? careens through the multiverse of possibilities with Uatu the Watcher as our guide. Disney+ is burning off the second season with a new episode each day until the end of the year for some reason (probably tax evasion related) but we're not complaining.
