'We're barely scraping by': Kim Kardashian's 'tone-deaf' post about $2K MRI scan triggers online backlash

BEVERLY HILLS, CALFORNIA: In a recent Instagram post, Kim Kardashian opened up about her choice to undergo an expensive MRI medical checkup. This comes after her sister Khloe Kardashian's melanoma diagnosis.

Sharing her experience at a high-end MRI center, Kim's initiative was tempered by her use of a non-promotional hashtag. However, the online response was less forgiving, with critics slamming her for seeming out of touch with economic constraints.

The opulent nature of the center she chose sparked debate, as people questioned its affordability for the general public.

Kim Kardashian's expensive MRI experience

Kim shared her experience with the Prenuvo scan, a non-radiation full-body MRI lasting an hour, highlighting its life-saving potential.

The company charges almost, $2499 for the whole body scan, and it takes a minimum of 60 minutes to complete the process.

The Prenuvo scan is capable of identifying cancer and aneurysms in their initial phases, preceding symptom manifestation. Having witnessed its effectiveness in saving her friends' lives, Kim wanted to spread awareness about its significance.

Her mention of #NotAnAd emphasizes that her motive was genuine advocacy, rather than sponsored promotion.

As Kim herself captioned the pic saying, "I recently did this @prenuvo scan and had to tell you all about this life saving machine. The Prenuvo full-body scan has the ability to detect cancer and diseases such as aneurysms in its earliest stages, before symptoms arise. It was like getting a MRI for an hour with no radiation. It has really saved some of my friends lives and I just wanted to share #NotAnAd."

'We can't afford this Kim'

The Internet slammed her for ignoring the current economic situation as one user educated her saying, "Maybe donate some of your millions to get people scanned." A second user added, "Kim, this is for wealthy people. People can't afford food right now."

A third user commented in a sarcastic manner and said, "Well, those of us living paycheck to paycheck will set aside $500,000 to do this because our insurance won't cover it. Thanks Kim!" A fourth user said, "Unfortunately we regular people can't afford this type of preventative care. Most insurances won't cover this."

One user added as to educate Kim about the real financial condition and said, "Some of us don't have thousands of dollars for that scan! One more person said, "We can't afford this Kimberley."
