There have been a number of ridiculously impressive goals in the Champions League this season with so many incredibly talented players taking to the field in 2022/23.

The knockout rounds saw plenty of quality efforts as the best players began to do battle against each other, but the group stages also allowed other stars to strut their stuff and bang in some silly strikes.

We've done our best to whittle it down to the ten best goals of the 2022/23 Champions League season.

10. Goncalo Ramos (BENFICA vs Club Brugge)

Goncalo Ramos became a very big deal when he made himself one of the main protagonists of the 2022 Qatar World Cup. He didn't do too badly in the Champions League with Benfica either, opting not to pursue a January move off the back of his goals in Qatar.

The pick of the bunch came in the last 16 as he helped the Liga Portugal champions past Club Brugge. Picking up the ball from Joao Mario on the left side of the box, he showed incredible feet for a big lad and danced through three players before slamming the ball into the back of the net.

9. Lionel Messi (Benfica vs PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN)

It wouldn't be a list of great Champions League goals without an offering from Lionel Messi, especially considering we may have seen the last of his involvement in the tournament. This one is more down to the flowing move of the team rather than one of Messi's great individual goals.

That being said, the finish from the Argentine following the slick move was not shabby at all, curling into the top corner. Unfortunately for Messi, he was not able to deliver a Champions League for PSG before moving to Inter Miami.

8. Nicolo Barella (INTER vs Benfica)

Nicolo Barella's season took a long time to get going, but he has scored a number of really impressive goals both domestically and in the Champions League this season. The Italian got his best against Benfica in the quarter-final.

Some very quick feet from Barella fed Lautaro Martinez; he made good on the one-two before the Italian showed immense composure to cut inside and curl the ball into the top corner with his weak foot.

7. Rodri (MANCHESTER CITY vs Bayern Munich)

This is what makes Rodri a frightening footballer. He is best known as the screen in front of Manchester City's defence, playing accurate short passes and generally having full control over every game that he plays in.

Given the other players City have in the team, it's unfair that he can also slap shots with immense power and accuracy into the top corner, something he has done on multiple occasions since leaving Atletico Madrid for the Premier League. He showed great awareness to create space against Bayern Munich before firing into the top corner for his first Champions League goal.

6. Alex Grimaldo (BENFICA VS Maccabi Haifa)

This is a very unusual goal and one you have to watch multiple times to make sure that it's worthy of selection. From what we can work out, this shot was not deflected.

The way Alex Grimaldo's strike loops and moves in the air is quite remarkable and it's no wonder Maccabi Haifa goalkeeper Josh Cohen was completely and utterly wrong-footed by it.

5. Olivier Giroud (Napoli vs AC Milan)

While Olivier Giroud's name is attached to this goal, it's so highly rated because of Rafael Leao's assist. The Portuguese forward has had a season marred by contract discussions and transfer speculation.

He was able to put all of that aside in the quarter-final against Napoli as he ran almost the entire length of the pitch with the ball before picking out Giroud in the box to score what was the crucial goal of the tie, sending the Rossoneri to the semi-finals.

4. Mykhailo Mudryk (Celtic vs SHAKHTAR DONETSK)

This is the sort of goal Chelsea fans are waiting to see from Mykhailo Mudryk. The Ukrainian youngster has not made any sort of impact in the Premier League since joining, but this goal against Celtic shows his potential.

The speed and dribbling are ruthless, while the finish is outrageous. Mudryk scored plenty of superb goals in the Champions League and domestically before his January move and shouldn't be written off yet.

3. Kevin De Bruyne (Real Madrid vs MANCHESTER CITY)

He had to feature somewhere, right? Manchester City cruised to the final and Kevin De Bruyne's goals were a big part of their progression. This one was his best, though, and it was a crucial strike in the semi-final against Real Madrid.

His ability to strike a ball so cleanly and with so much power while also picking out a specific corner is really impressive. He effectively sent the entire Real Madrid defence and goalkeeper the wrong way with this strike at the Bernabeu.

2. Vinicius Junior (REAL MADRID vs Manchester City)

This semi-final may have ended up going drastically the way of Manchester City in the second leg at the Etihad, but the first leg was tight and featured superb goals. While De Bruyne's was good, Vinicius Junior's was even better.

The run from Eduardo Camavinga deserves a lot of praise as he got his team all the way up the pitch before sliding it to Vinicius. He took the ball in his stride and smashed it into the top corner with incredible precision.

1. Erling Haaland (MANCHESTER CITY vs Borussia Dortmund)

The 2022/23 Champions League top scorer had to feature here and has found himself at the very top. This goal probably made Zlatan Ibrahimovic smirk and annoyed in equal measure.

The acrobatic effort from Erling Haaland against his old team Borussia Dortmund is missing one thing; a big celebration. For very understandable reasons, he did not wheel away but it was a seriously impressive goal.
