The just-announced iPhone 15 isn't the only Apple device getting that sweet USB-C upgrade.
During the 2023 Apple Event livestream, the iPhone maker announced that USB-C will be coming to AirPods, too.
The AirPods Pro 2 will be the first to feature USB-C. The popular headphones now come with a USB-C charging case. The entry-level AirPods and high-end AirPods Max weren't mentioned, but earlier reports indicate that we may see USB-C added to those early next year, too.
Interestingly, EarPods (Apple's wired earbuds) happened to made an appearance during the livestream; they, too, will be receiving a USB-C upgrade alongside the AirPods Pro 2.

The first new feature is a combination of Transparency mode and Active Noise Cancellation called Adaptive Audio. According to Apple, this listening mode will adjust audio for users based on their surroundings to reduce distracting noise.
A new feature called Conversation Awareness will automatically lower the content audio when someone is speaking to the AirPods wearer. And another announced addition, Personalized Volume, will "fine tune" the audio settings automatically based on users' preferences over time.
The AirPods Pro 2, packed with the new USB-C charging case, will be available on Friday, Sept. 22 for $249.
