LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dylan Dreyer joined NBC News back in 2012 and since then has moved up the ladder quickly to anchor 'Today 3rd Hour' while frequently appearing on ‘Today’ show as a weather correspondent and a fill-in for Al-Roker and Carson Daly. She is an experienced professional but unfortunately, embarrassing blunders have a habit of finding her quickly. And one such incident transpired yet again during Monday, June 5, episode of 'Today 3rd Hour'.
Dylan and her co-hosts, Sheinelle Jones, and Al Roker, joined a fitness expert for the talk show's 'Start Today' segment. The segment was meant to demonstrate the benefit of a particular exercise for everyone but Dylan who was overly excited to get into the act didn’t hear her iPhone go off. She laughed but at that moment came up with a quick joke, whatever she could summon to save herself from the embarrassing moment. But it was already too late since her blunder was noticed and captured on live air.
'Siri is interested in what you're saying'
Dylan sat on the mat on the floor, next to the instructor as Al and Sheinelle watched from a distance. The fitness expert began his demonstration and showed the co-hosts how they, and fans at home, could utilize "low-intensity moves" to assist with muscle recovery. The fitness expert insisted that Dylan should do one exercise with him. Dylan was right beside him on the mat and begin to imitate the fitness expert. She rolled back and forth on the foam roller from her butt to her thighs, imitating the expert.
While she was at it, a voice emanated from her back pocket. Dylan ignored it at first and continued with the drill as the expert continued talking. However, Dylan couldn’t help but address the noise from her phone and to make things less awkward, said, “Siri is interested in what you're saying.” This was one of Dylan’s many mid-air blunders but the 41-year-old managed to laugh it off with her wit.
Dylan’s blunders of the past
Dylan is not a novice when it comes to on-air blunders. She shared a heartwarming photo on Instagram a while ago where she addressed her “stumbling” on an on-air segment. The gesture was a pick-me-up after Dylan seemingly had a difficult time getting through her forecast. She revealed that her husband, Brian Fichera, was behind the kind gift. “How the cameraman tries to cheer me up after I stumbled through tonight’s weather forecast!” Dylan captioned her post. “He totally gets me!” The flowers had the phrase, “It’s just words” taped to the vase.” Dylan continues to serve as the anchor for 'Today’s 3rd Hour', hoping to make fewer blunders as she goes.
