LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Today’ host Al Roker, who recently returned to the show following his knee surgery caught co-host Sheinelle Jones insulting Craig Melvin during a fun magic segment. In a recent episode, host Al Roker, Craig Melvin, Dylan Dreyer, and Sheinelle Jones enjoyed an interesting segment as they welcomed magician David Kwong.
On Tuesday, May 30, ‘Today’ broadcast, the morning show hosts relished a fun treat when a magician stopped to mesmerize the audience and host with his unique tricks. While the guest was captivating everyone, Jones secretly insulted her co-host Craig under her breath. Although the remark didn’t catch anyone’s attention, except Al Roker, who was then seen goggle-eyed on live TV.
‘That doesn’t take much'
During a recent episode, ‘Today’ hosts welcomed a magician and New York Times puzzle maker, David Kwong, to share his intriguing magic tricks on the show. One of the tricks David performed was rubbing a coin together, making it disappear into thin air. This trick captivated everyone and looked like it vanished from sight. Al asked David, suspiciously, “What’d you do with it?” Craig wondered what just happened as David joked, “His brain just broke into a thousand little pieces."
To this, Jones suddenly teased, “Wait”, sighed under her breath, and continued, “That doesn’t take much." She seemed to insult Craig over David’s remark, but her sarcastic comment was left unheard except in Al Roker’s ears. He surprisingly called out, “Ohhh!” Jones' jab at Craig slipped by everyone as she let the insult out just at the right time so no one could call her out. Well, Craig definitely didn’t seem to hear Jones slamming her on live TV.
Al Roker’s day off
Meanwhile, ‘Today’ host Al Roker took some time away from home with his wife, Deborah, to enjoy a concert following his knee replacement surgery. The couple went to see singer Tom Jones over the Memorial Day weekend. Roker's outing comes after he returned back to the ‘Today’ show. His wife took to Instagram to share a video of their visit to the exciting musical event which captioned, "When I was 8 or 9 years old, my teacher Mrs. Stephens often broke into a giddy grin after taking attendance and asked, 'did y’all see Tom Jones last night'? Clearly, she had a major crush on the Welsh singer who personified blue-eyed soul”. She continued revealing her fan moment and childhood stories about the singer, “I did occasionally catch his TV show and appreciated his charisma as he crooned with Stevie Wonder and so many others. But never saw him perform until this week. At 83 (next week) he’s still got it. Couldn’t help but think that during this “unusual” moment Mrs. Stephens is somewhere smiling." She concluded the post caption by thanking her husband, Roker, and Tom for the beautiful and nostalgic gift and shared a series of snaps of having a great time with her husband at the concert.
