LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Al Roker is an important part of the television experience, especially if you watch ‘Today.’ Roker, 68, might be older than a few of his co-anchors, but he is in with the tech, celebrities, and everything in between. Despite all this, Roker has his moments of feeling awkward and wanting to move on from the conversation as fast as possible, and that was clearly visible during the Wednesday, June 7 segment of ‘Today'.
Turns out, the one thing that makes Roker squirm and awkward is hemorrhoid creams! Now, without context that does sound funny, but frankly, if you watch that particular segment of ‘Today’ it might leave you doubling down with laughter. Roker is loved far and beyond by his fans, and this moment will get added to the roster when it comes to memorable moments of him on ‘Today.’
'Hemorrhoid cream can help with a pimple'
‘Today’ show welcomed Dr Pimple Popper aka Sandra Lee for one of their segments, where she talked about all things skincare. It’s summer and it is important to discuss how you can take good care of your skin at this time, but who knew this conversation would escalate to a point where Roker would have to plead with them to wrap it up? As the segment was coming close to its end, the topic of hemorrhoid creams came up, and it was time to bust some myths or state some facts. Roker was the one who read out this myth or fact, “Hemorrhoid cream can help with a pimple."
Shockingly enough, it was a fact, that sparked a conversation amongst the co-anchors, and Roker remained silent. He awkwardly held the ‘fact’ sign, looking around at this his co-anchors and Lee who continued discussing the use of hemorrhoid creams as he sat there, wishing the conversation would be over soon. Dylan Dyerer, Craig Melvin, and Sheinelle Jones all chimed into this conversation, but Roker remained silent.
‘Okay…time to wrap it up!’
Jones decided to tell the ‘Today’ anchors and Dr Lee that she had a co-host who would lather hemorrhoid cream under their eyes, and even gestured exactly how they would do it. However, she wouldn’t reveal who this co-host was. At this point, Roker decided he had had enough and it was time for the segment to end, “Okay…time to wrap it up!” his tone was loud and clear as he looked at Dr Lee with a pleading smile, the awkwardness still visible, hoping the segment would end.
As the hemorrhoid part of the ‘Today’ show came to an end, Roker could finally have some peace!
