It looks as though Threads might finally get a trending topics feature, strengthening the siren call of Meta's Twitter/X rival.
As reported by 9to5Mac, an accidentally leaked screenshot from a Meta employee has revealed what appears to be a trending topics interface for Threads. Seemingly running on an internal version of the platform, the list of topics appears below a search bar and is numbered from one to five.

While there are just 562 threads about footballer Chase Claypool, he is listed before BLACKPINK member JENNIE's solo song "You & Me," which boasts 31,800 threads.

Meta has not yet announced when we can expect to see a trending topics feature on our own, non-internal versions of Threads. However, at this stage it's likely only a matter of time. The company has rolled out several highly requested features since its July launch, gradually bulking out its offering as it aims to attract more users unhappy with Elon Musk's mishandling of Twitter/X.
