PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: 'America's Got Talent' viewers got one step closer to a winner on Wednesday as two more acts advanced to the finals. However, as with the previous two weeks, fans are not pleased with this week's outcomes.
On the third night of 'AGT' Season 18, which aired on September 5, 11 artists—Warrior Squad, Trigg Watson, Summer Rios, Putri Ariani, Philip Bowen, Phil Wright & the Parent Jam, Mzansi Youth Choir, MOS, Justin Jackson, Herwan Legaillard, and Barry Brewer Jr.—were performing.
Terry Crews offered a montage of Tuesday night's performances as the 11 performers awaited their fate on the September 6 episode. Summer and MOS were the first performers to get their findings from host Terry. MOS was the first act to make it to the Top 5. Terry's next result went to the Mzansi Youth Choir and Herwan Legaillard. The next act to make the Top 5 was the Mzansi Youth Choir.
Terry then summoned Justin and Putri. There was no question that Putri would advance to the Top 5 over Justin, and the voting confirmed this.
Before the results were revealed, the judges and Terry appeared in a package in which they discussed the first time they were recognized when they first became famous, and then several of this season's participants discussed becoming recognized for the first time as well.
Then, Chapel Hart, one of last season's Top 5 finalists, returned to the 'AGT' stage to perform its new single 'Fam Damily' off its Glory Days album. Following that came a video compilation of 'AGT' memes, including the judges and Terry.
Terry called Trigg, Barry, and Philip after the entertainment break to receive their findings. Violinist Philip learned that he was still in the running for the finals.
Philip Wright & Parent Jam, and Warrior Squad tied for fifth place in the Top 5. It was evident who was going through what. Howie had buzzed Parent Jam on Tuesday night. Warrior Squad found that they had made it into the Top 5.
The Top 3 were then revealed: Mzansi Youth Choir, Putri, and Warrior Squad.
Mzansi Youth Choir was the first act to be confirmed as progressing to the finale, followed by Putri.
Fans took to X, to express their disappointment, "Warrior Squad was robbed!" Another person chimed in, "I’m sorry but that can not be right warrior squad deserve that spot vs the choir." One person noted, "I think I’d be more willing to go see an act like warrior squad in Vegas than a choir.." A fourth person tweeted, "WARRIOR SQUAD THEY DID YOU DIRTY IM DONE WITH THIS BYEEEE."
Angry at the results, one fan noted, "I am so done with this stupid show. Putri got sympathy votes." One fan asked, "Why is Putri Ariani in the finals? She won Indonesia Got Talent in 2014. this show needs to stop letting people audition who won in the past or had record deals and let other people win." Another fan added, "This is so wrong. Warrior Squad should've made it." Others wrote, "i mean … they both deserved it actually… kinda wish warrior squad should be kept there/deserved better but… whaddaya gonna do."
