NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Taylor Swift’s recent appearance at the Kansas City Chiefs versus New York Jets game created waves, and ‘The View’ co-hosts have discussed the same on their ‘Hot Topics’ segment.
Whoopi Goldberg seemed most surprised with how Swift and rumored boyfriend Travis Kelce have become the “public’s obsession.”
In turn, Goldberg also ended up mispronouncing Kelce’s name, using a 'Game of Thrones' character instead, aka Khaleesi.
In this hilarious exchange, ‘The View’ co-hosts also applauded Swift, and “self-appointed Swiftie” Alyssa Farah Griffin also shared some of her preferred "celebrity nickname" for the rumored couple.
Whoopi Goldberg expresses her shock on ‘The View’
On ‘The View,’ Whoopi Goldberg announced the ‘Hot Topics’ segment to her co-hosts, “Well, my God, this has happened, and I don't know what to do. Yesterday, Taylor Swift cheered…yes.”
Goldberg gave the live audience a moment to cheer before she continued, “Taylor Swift cheered on Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Khaleesi when…”
Goldberg was immediately interrupted by Sunny Hostin who corrected her, “Kelce.”
“Kelce,” repeated Goldberg but quickly said, “Well, he’s Khaleesi to me.”
She continued, “When they faced off against the New York Jets, she was joined by famous friends Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, and Hugh Jackman. Apparently, her newfound interest in the NFL is catching on with her fan base as well.”
'The View' hosts discuss nicknames for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce
As ‘The View’ co-hosts discussed Taylor Swift, including her impact on the economy, Alyssa Farah Griffin finally chimed in.
Griffin said, “As a self-appointed Swiftie, I have a gripe with this. We can't call them Traylor. They need a better celebrity couple nickname if she in fact is dating Travis Kelce. Traylor doesn't work.”
“I'm going with Tayvis or Swelce,” said Griffin, at which point Whoopi Goldberg looked at the audience a little surprised.
Griffin also added that there were some people at the game in New York who had spelled “Kelce” wrong on jerseys, and Goldberg immediately said, “Well I said it wrong, so it happens.”
At this point, Ana Navarro circled back to Goldberg’s use of the name Khaleesi, and asked, “Wasn’t Khaleesi the woman from the Game of Thrones?” at this, Goldberg simply nodded yes.
