LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Politics plays a big part in 'The View’ and the group of women who discuss a range of issues. Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro are more inclined to political conversations compared to Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sara Haines. While these women discuss politics on 'The View,' they sometimes do so off the air.
Navarro is a proud Nicaraguan whose political views lean toward the Republican Party, which she has already made clear on 'The View." Despite her loyalty to the Republican Party, however, there is one man with whom Navarro cannot make friends, and that is Ron DeSantis.
‘His political grave’
As Navarro vacations with her husband and dog, she couldn’t help but retweet something posted by the official account of Florida Politics. The original tweet read, “@RonDeSantis' odds of getting GOP nomination slump to near 15 per cent Reporting by @AGGancarski https://flapol.com/3JJVrqo #FlaPol.” Looks like Navarro is thrilled by these odds as she retweeted, “I cannot wait to dance on his political grave. ??” A statement like that simply can’t go without backlash, and that is exactly what has happened.
Previously, according to Decider, when Navarro was asked by her co-host, Hostin, about how a Latina woman can be a part of the Republican party, Navarro said, “When I came to this country, the Republican Party was the party that stood up against communism and that is something that’s ingrained in me.” So it’s safe to say that Navarro’s varied statements over a period of time, leading up to this particular tweet about DeSantis, have caused a stir on the internet.
‘So-called Republican’
The internet did not hold back and unleashed its wrath on Navarro. One tweet explains how DeSantis’ poll number could affect Trump, “You do realize that Trump is likely to be elected, right? It is all of us who will dance on your “journalistic grave.” While people mention her ‘journalistic grave’ others questioned her loyalty to GOP as they tweeted, “The so-called Republican who hates all Republicans”
The general consensus of people responding to Navarro was how ‘disturbing’ her response was. One tweet read, “That’s a disturbing statement.” Another one said, “What a terrible tweet. Shameful.” The internet can’t comprehend the use of ‘political grave’ and her urge to dance on it as one person writes, “If this is the type of thing you look forward to then you need a more meaningful life.” And one another said, “I never realized what a hateful person you are.” ‘The View’ is currently on hiatus, but it will be interesting to see if Navarro makes a similar statement about DeSantis when the talk show resumes.
