‘The View’ co-host Whoopi Goldberg advises woman to get therapy as she rips cue cards apart: 'Do what you got to do'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On the segment airing on Wednesday, July 26, ‘The View’ co-hosts discussed a woman on Reddit who spoke about locking her husband out of their house after a late night of partying. This led to a hearty discussion on healthy marriages as each of the women on the panel is currently married or has been married at some point.

Whoopi Goldberg, who has been married thrice before, is currently the only unmarried woman on ‘The View’ panel. Therefore, she had some unique and important advice to give to the woman on Reddit. This eventually turned into her passionately ripping apart the cue card in her hand over and over again. This wouldn’t be a first for Goldberg, only this time, it was accompanied by some advice.

‘They need therapy’

Goldberg read the hot topic out to her co-hosts, “A woman is asking Reddit if she was in the wrong locking her husband out of the house after he came home from partying at 6 in the morning. She says he is a good dad but this is not the first time this has happened. Was it wrong? Was this the wrong way to teach the lesson?” All co-hosts weighed in with their opinions, including Sunny Hostin who also showcased a more legal approach to the situation. The women believed that the man should have, perhaps, slept in the car, depending on the background of the situation. Joy believed what the woman did was right as it would lead to change in behavior. Goldberg’s advice stood out among the others' as she claimed, “They need some therapy.”

After that, Hostin also added a follow-up to the Reddit situation with said woman, “Last apparently they had friends over.” She then continued to read from the woman’s point of view, “Last night we had friends over, at about 10:30 pm I decided to go to sleep with my daughters. At 3 am, I get up to get some water and notice that he is not home.” Goldberg had a sour and shocked expression on her face before she advised, “Look, get some therapy babe, maybe it's time for y’all to split up. He’s a great dad, don’t take him out of your children’s lives but if you don’t want to deal with this, then it's time for him to leave and for you to have the house and do what you got to do.” After that, Goldberg ripped the cue cards in her hands and asked, “What else is there to say?” Goldberg wasn’t done as she went on the explain her reasoning, saying, “If this is going on and on and on, because she says it’s not the first or second or third or fourth time, it's saying – I don’t want to be there with you.” As the co-hosts chimed in once again, Goldberg ripped up some more cue cards and ended the segment by saying, “make the change, babe.”
