LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It is no secret that ‘The View’ is a hotbed for controversies, and more often than not, the issues are internal. The co-hosts often lash out at one another or cut each other off during conversations. Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin are usually under the spotlight facing backlash from fans as opposed to Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro, who are mostly admired by fans.
Recently, Griffin and Hostin found themselves amidst a feud that took 'The View' fans by storm. As things escalated and eventually calmed down, Griffin is now out vacationing with her family for a much-needed break, and fans can’t help but speculate why. Griffin is a fairly private person who likes to put a limit on her social media accounts. Despite that, fans have managed to get through in one of her recent social media posts.
Alyssa Farah Griffin takes a much-needed break
Griffin took to Instagram with two photos, the first of ‘The Beverly Hills Hotel’ and the second of Griffin and her family, smiling galore. Griffin captioned the post, “Quick LA trip for much-needed family time 🤍🤍🤍🤍” Even though Griffin’s post didn’t mention her work, and especially not Hostin, however, fans couldn’t help but speculate why she needed the break as they took over the comment section with their opinion on the Hostin-Griffin drama.
What happened between Hostin and Griffin?
‘The View’ co-hosts were discussing Republicans and presidential candidates, which is often known to spark arguments among them, as per Deadline. It didn’t take long for Griffin and Hostin to get into an argument after Hostin, in regard to Mike Pence, told Griffin, “You are incapable of defending a man that you worked for.” It was all downhill after that, with Griffin barely able to get a word in after Hostin kept cutting her off until Griffin finally said, “Are you going to give me a chance to answer? I mean, this is absurd. This is not what this show is about. This is Barbara Walters’ legacy, let a woman speak.” This incident left a sour taste with Griffin as well as her fans, who have shown her support since.
Fans take over Griffin’s Instagram post
Despite Griffin limiting comments on her Instagram, some fans managed an opportunity to comment on Griffin’s post. One wrote, “I used to like Sunny. I don’t know what happened to her. Keep your head high and keep up the good job 😊.” Another user mentioned Hostin, writing, “You are the best! Sunny needs to go! She is so rude.” Fans took this opportunity to praise Griffin and her work on the show, as one wrote, “You are an excellent addition to The View. It’s frustrating when panelists do not allow you to finish sentences and arguments, even as a Democrat. Stay tough!”
While a lot of comments were about Griffin’s beautiful family, fans are convinced this break is because of Griffin's incident with Hostin on ‘The View’. “Enjoy, you could really use it after the whipping you received from Sunny. But you came out on top. Class always wins,” wrote a fan, while another stated, “After the week you’ve had, I’m not surprised.” “You definitely needed a break! Sunny needs to go. She’s too rude. I enjoy how you handle yourself," remarked a fan who obviously wasn't keen on Hostin's behavior.
