The PGA Tour has its final designated event before the US Open in a couple weeks as it heads to Muirfield Village for The Memorial Tournament.
With it being a designated event, all the top golfers on Tour will be competing this week.
In this article, I'm going to power rank the top 10 golfers to bet on this week, based on both their betting odds and my person evaluation of their chances to win.
Let's jump into it.
The Memorial Tournament power rankings
1) Jon Rahm +750
Jon Rahm has always performed well at this course, so I'm surprised he's not the betting favorite this week. We won the event in 2020 and then in 2021 he had a massive lead heading into the final round, but was forced to withdraw due to testing positive for COVID.
Last year, he finished 10th. He, in my opinion, should be the betting favorite with how Scottie Scheffler has putted lately.
2) Scottie Scheffler +600
Scottie Scheffler lead the Charles Schwab Challenge in strokes gained: tee-to-green last week and it wasn't even close. The issue was he lost -1.05 strokes to the field in putting. Had he putted even average, he would've won it running away.
But, that seems to be the issue with Scheffler lately. His striking the ball as well as ever, but subpar putting has cost him week after week. It's probably best to stick to betting on him to finish in the top five.
3) Patrick Cantlay +1000
Patrick Cantlay has won this event twice, both in 2019 and 2021. He then followed that up with a third place finish last season.
If you're looking for a horse for the course, it's Cantlay, no doubt.
4) Xander Schauffele +1400
Xander Schauffele has always done good, but not great at this event. Finishing between 11th and 18th in five straight events at this course.
Xander Schauffele has three top five finishes in his last four starts. This could be the time to bet on him to get over the bump this season.
5) Collin Morikawa +2500
Collin Morikawa had a runner up finish here in 2021, and he won the Workday Open when it was hosted at Muirfield Village in 2020.
He's been out of form lately, especially with his putting, but that just means we're getting a good price on him as he heads back to a course that he's comfortable at.
6) Viktor Hovland +2000
Viktor Hovland has been peaking lately and his putting has been hot. He didn't perform quite as well last week as he did at the PGA Championship, but if you're looking at golfers that are trending in the right direction, then Viktor Hovland has to be close to the top of your list.
7) Tyrrell Hatton +2500
Tyrrell Hatton is another guy who has been hot lately, finishing in the top 20 in four straight events and in the top five in two of those events.
His one issue is he's only competed at this event once, finishing 33rd here in 2019.
8) Rory McIlroy +1200
I'm flabbergasted that Rory McIlroy is still near the top of the odds list. He hasn't played well lately and he hasn't played particularly well at this event. The last time he finished better than 18th at The Memorial Tournament was in 2018 when he finished 8th.
9) Jordan Spieth +4000
Jordan Spieth has finished in the top 10 twice at this event, including a 3rd place finish in 2015 and a 7th place finish in 2019. He has struggled a bit in recent starts, but it's hard to ignore his price at 40/1 this week.
10) Sam Burns +3300
Sam Burns finished sixth here last week, but hasn't ever done well at The Memorial Tournament, finishing 50th in 2021 and 17th in 2020.
He is coming off his best finish since winning the Match Play in March, finishing T6 at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
