FIJI, SOUTH PACIFIC: In the most recent episode, Charity Lawson was taken aback by one of her last three 'The Bachelorette' suitors. Charity's overnights were highlighted in the Monday, August 7 episode, and her first overnight date was with Xavier Bonner.
Charity sent frontrunner Xavier home when he admitted to cheating on his ex, but she's teasing her happy ending on Twitter. During the episode, Dotun Olubeko, Joey Graziadei, and Xavier were meant to go on fantasy suite dates, but Xavier was sent home after revealing to Charity that he had been unfaithful in a previous relationship. Charity was stunned and dumbfounded by the confession since she had previously been cheated on. Xavier then informed Charity he couldn't trust their connection, which led to his elimination since Charity stated her "standards were too high for an insecure man."
'This is exactly what my ex did'
They had a fantastic date dancing on the beach, but as the sun set, so did their mood. During their supper, Xavier revealed that he had been unfaithful in a past relationship. Even though he maintained it was "not the man I am," it was a significant trigger for the bachelorette, who had previously been cheated on.
She rushed away from the table, claiming that he had "derailed" their possible relationship with the new knowledge. She brushed her tears away, anticipating that her next relationship would be a "forever thing," but this revelation made her anxious. Charity returned to the table, eager to hear what Xavier had to say. She said she "wants to be with someone who's going to protect me from [infidelity]."
Charity inquired as to how many times he cheated and how it occurred. Xavier admitted to cheating on his ex many times over a five-day span, two years into their relationship. Charity said in a confessional, "This is exactly what my ex did."
He stated he became more "introspective" to understand why he cheated in order to grow from his error. Then Xavier said the unthinkable: it would be difficult not to cheat on her, since "that freedom [of being single] is gone." He later admitted that he had no doubt in his heart, but he did have uncertainty in his head. He also stated that he needed to "see more" of Charity in order to dispel his doubts.
Charity took that remark to indicate that Xavier was looking forward to seeing more of her in the bedroom. Her reaction was a straightforward, "f**k this."
She eventually eliminated him and escorted him off the beach. She then cried on the sand by herself. Xavier not only lost Charity on this week's show, but it looks like he also lost Bachelor Nation's fan following.
'Xavier's demanding to see more from Charity?? Huh?'
On Twitter, fans slammed Xavier as they were appalled by his admission, "It’s okay to cheat on your girlfriend but not your wife ?? it’s gonna be hard NOT to cheat ?? XAVIER WHAT." Another person tweeted, "I know we’re all focusing on joey right now but i still cant believe xavier really said he needed to sleep with her to know if he was gonna be faithful or not, how are people like that real ?!" Others added, "Surely I'm not the only person who thinks Xavier didn't want to be engaged, so he told Charity things that would get him sent home." A fourth user tweeted, "Xavier's demanding to see more from Charity?? Huh?"
Other offended users tweeted, "Did Xavier just say that he needs Charity to have sex with him tonight for him to consider not cheating on her in the future? That’s insane. This is insane. Xavier is insane." Another person added, "XAVIER???? YOU KNEW ONE OF HER BIGGEST FEARS WAS INFIDELITY AND WAITED UNTIL NOW TO TELL HER YOU WERE UNFAITHFUL??" One person further wrote, "Charity gave this dude 1,000,000 chances to say he won’t cheat on her and he basically tells her he needs to see her naked to be sure." Others agreed, "What is Xavier talking about? What is going on? Did he just say that Charity has to have sex with him tonight for him to know that he won’t cheat in the future? This is insane."
