'That isn’t real': Fans react to 'younger Drake' hologram handing performer a book on stage

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Drake, 36, has mesmerized his fans with a high tech performance in Chicago. Fans were left stunned after the ‘Rich Flex’ singer performed alongside a hologram version of his younger self on stage, interacting with the projected image. The five-time Grammy-winning singer is known for his eye-catching stage shows.

The Canadian rapper launched his ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour with the rapper 21 Savage, who collaborated on his album ‘Her Loss’, on Wednesday, July 5. During a performance of his 2011 song ‘Look What You’ve Done’, the hologram version of his younger self could be seen sitting beside him on the couch and grooving to the music.

The hologram Drake could also be seen handing over a book to the rapper from which he appeared to sing the verses. While the magical night was at its peak, an unfortunate incident marred the celebration when Drake was hit on his arm by a cell phone thrown from the crowd. Like a seasoned performer, he continued to carry on with his singing after glancing fleetingly at his injured arm.

'They say they miss the old Drake'

The Canadian singer recently announced his poetry book called ‘Titles Ruin Everything: A Stream of Consciousness’ with Phaidon. For the book, he collaborated with his friend and contributor on many of his songs, Kenza Samir. The book is described as a collection of “fame, romance, and relationships.”

The newspaper ad of the book comes with a QR code that leads to Drake’s website where the ‘Euphoria’ producer announces, “I made an album to go with the book. They say they miss the old Drake girl don’t tempt me. FOR ALL THE DOGS.” The book will be releasing on July 14.

'That’s not a hologram'

"Are we sure that's a hologram and not a clone? How exactly does a hologram take physical form?" asked an inquisitive fan. Another fan commented, "Everyone saying Drake performed with a hologram got me tweaked out rn... If it was, I’m lowkey shocked because I looked at that boy with my own eyes and thought he was real." Someone else joked, "Y’all adults think a hologram passed Drake a book on stage." Another questioned, "That isn’t real…. RIGHT?"

A self-proclaimed hip-hop fan worded everyone's confusion, "People seem to be confused on how the hologram is handing the book to Drake." On the other hand, someone else claimed boldly, "That’s not a hologram." Another social media user praised Drake's showmanship, tweeting, "When you got nothing but ghost writers then you’d better put on a great live show performance wise. Either way great showman."

The next fan explained, "How a hologram gonna grab a notebook and then pass it off? Gotta be someone wearing a mask cause ain’t no way " "It’s not a hologram! It’s a real actors that looks like drake when he was a kid," said another. However, another propagated the idea that the book might be a hologram too, "The book is literally a hologram." Another joked, "Did his clone help him paint his nails pink too?" Another commented, "I could be wrong but i dont think drake has invented the ability to interact with holograms yet."
