Oral Roberts beat TCU in the opening matchup of the College World Series, and now the two meet again in hope of holding off elimination on Tuesday in Nebraska, Omaha.
The mid-major darling of this college baseball tournament, Oral Roberts, is an underdog once again despite beating TCU on Friday, 6-5. What can we expect in a win-or-go-home situation? Here are the odds for Tuesday's matchup:
TCU vs. Oral Roberts odds, run line and total
TCU vs. Oral Roberts prediction and pick
While TCU stunned Virginia on Sunday to keep its season alive, winning 5-4, I believe Oral Roberts is the better team and will win a second straight game against the Horned Frogs.
The Golden Eagles have the far superior pitching staff, checking in top five this regular season in both ERA and WHIP and have the depth to outpace the TCU pitching staff that will likely start Cam Brown, who has an ERA of 5.50.
While TCU's offense was outstanding in the Regional and Super Regional rounds, the Golden Eagles have been on a tear as well, tallying 11 hits against Florida in the loss on Sunday after also posting 11 hits in the win against the Horned Frogs.
The Horned Frogs grade out as an average team across the board, outside the top 50 in pitching metrics like ERA and hitting metrics like on-base percentage (82nd). The team got hot against the likes of Arkansas, but it's Oral Roberts that is far more dangerous at the dish, top 20 in regular season slugging percentage.
Take advantage of the Golden Eagles at plus money.
