HOUSTON, TEXAS: Patrick Xavier Clark, the man who is suspected to have killed rapper Takeoff has been indicted by a grand jury, confirmed the Harris County District Attorney's Office. Takeoff, who was the youngest member of the hip-hop trio Migos, was fatally shot on November 1, 2022, outside of 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston after a private party. Things took a drastic turn after an altercation led to gunfire. According to the Harris County Medical Examiner, Takeoff was shot in the head and torso into his arm and was declared dead at the scene. A couple of other individuals who were also struck by gunfire were transported to the hospital.

Fingerprints on a wine bottle led to the rapper's killer

On November 11, 2022, the late rapper was honored with a massive memorial at State Farm Arena in Georgia. Detectives said that fingerprints on a wine bottle led them to Takeoff's killer, three weeks following his death. According to ABC13, detectives also stated that Clark is considered the main suspect due to the "direction" from where he was seen shooting in the surveillance video. The suspect purchased plane tickets to Mexico just a couple of days before his arrest, court records show, and obtained an expedited passport.

Clark was released on a bond

Clark was released on a $1 million bond a month after his arrest. According to XXL, the attorney for Takeoff's suspected killer released a statement at the time saying, "Neither Patrick nor his family posted the bond in this case. A concerned citizen and family friend who believes in Patrick’s innocence posted the bond on his behalf." Clark, who was also known as DJ Pat in the Houston area, was initially handed a $2 million bond but his amount was lowered by his legal counsel.

He was reportedly ordered to be monitored by GPS and have his passport confiscated as per the terms of his release.

'He will be free sadly'

Twitter users also reacted after the news broke out. One user tweeted, "I want to really know all the truth behind the senselessness because something just felt like a set up about it from the start and I really felt like Take was never the intended target." Another wrote, "Good! Now we just need the conviction. This needs to happen." A third user said, "LONG LIVE TAKEOFFFF!!!" "Not enough to win the case. He will be free sadly," wrote yet another, while someone else stated, "Deserves the worst, most painful ending possible."
