LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It’s been more than two weeks since the members of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) have been on strike in order to get good compensation for writers across the Hollywood industry. Apart from the writers, normal moviegoers, and TV fanatics are also extending their support to the strike because they know how difficult it is to work in an environment that undermines your talent. But it seems that the public has had enough of all these big studio executives ignoring the demands of the writers and has started to criticize them during public events. If you don’t believe us, ask David Zaslav who was constantly being reminded that he needs to step forward and solve the issue as soon as possible.
Warner Bros CEO David Zaslav is one of the prominent figures involved in the ongoing strike and writers are hoping that he would come out in support of their demands. However, his commencement speech at the graduation ceremony for Boston University is being shared widely on social media in which he can be seen talking about getting successful.

The video was shared by one of the writers working on 'Late Night with Set Meyers'.
“If you want to be successful, you are going to have to figure out how to get along with everyone and that includes difficult people,” Zaslav said during the speech.
However, his speech gets interrupted by many members of the crowd chanting, “Pay your Writers!” There comes a point when the chanting gets so loud that he had to stop his commencement address for good five seconds. Protesting writers shared the video on social media and applauded the students of Boston University for being on their side.
'What a powerful group of voices'
One of the social media users wrote, “Boston doesn’t come to play. We take the mighty down HARD.” Another social media user wrote, “As a double alumna of Boston University, I endorse the chanting wholeheartedly!” Another social media user tweeted, “AMAZING. What a powerful group of voices speaking up against this bigot! He’s worse than a difficult person, CLEARLY. He’s fumbling on his words, like a coward. You KNOW he’s gonna lose soon. To these brave college students, and to employees in animation!”
“Say less. Pay your f***ing writers,” wrote another user. “This is beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I honestly don’t think these executives and CEOs are aware just how many “non-industry” people support this strike. Never give them a moment of peace,” tweeted another one. “And he deserves it all!” wrote another one.
This is not the first time Zaslav has faced backlash like that in his professional career. Recently, fans were extremely disappointed at the WB CEO. Ever since the merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery, a lot of changes have occurred with Warner Bros. The shutting down of WB’s Writers and Directors Workshop was a huge setback for writers coming from different ethnicities. The reaction was extremely negative and a lot of people didn’t want Zaslav to be the CEO.
But one thing is clear, all the aspiring writers are joining and supporting their fellow writers to get what they deserve. Let’s hope their demands are met and they get back to earning their livelihoods.
