Suns projected depth chart after first wave of free agency

The Suns have quickly made a flurry of moves to increase their depth in the first wave of free agency. During the first couple of hours of free agency, Brooklyn was able to fill out most of their depth and has been able to fortify their roster with solid wings.

As reported via various reports from Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania, the Suns were able to sign Yuta Watanabe, and Keita Bates-Diop among other players.

Rather than waiting, they decided to fill out a roster that needed a lot of depth after trading for Bradley Beal. After the first night of free agency, they have most of their roster spots filled out.

Aside from a possible Deandre Ayton trade, the Suns are likely done making moves until December.

Suns starting lineup after early free agency moves

  • Point guard: Devin Booker
  • Shooting guard: Bradley Beal
  • Small forward: Kevin Durant
  • Power forward: Yuta Watanabe or Keita Bates-Diop
  • Center: Deandre Ayton

The bench includes Jordan Goodwin, Damion Lee, the other of Diop/Watanabe, Cameron Payne, Ish Wainwright, Drew Eubanks, Chimezie Metu, Josh Okogie, and Toumani Camara among others.

Considering the limited cap space that this team this is a very good rotation. If the Suns are able to end up trading Ayton for a capable starting center and another role player in the front court, the Suns will be one of the favorites to end up winning the title this season. Still, at the moment, the end of the rotation is a bit thin.

Still, this is an amazing job by the Suns who did not have any exceptions to get any depth for this team. It seemed like the Suns were destined to end up in a situation that was very similar to the Nets' Kevin Durant era where they did not have any depth.

After the first couple of hours of free agency, it seems like the team was able to alleviate those concerns by signing quality players on cheap contracts.
