'Perfect entertainment': Jimmy Kimmel divides internet after roasting Ivanka Trump over her testimony in fraud trial

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel didn't hold back while pouncing Ivanka Trump for failing to recall much details as she testified in her father Donald Trump’s $250 million civil fraud trial.

The 42-year-old Ivanka reportedly repeated "I don't recall" over 30 times when took the stand at the former president’s ongoing fraud trial, where he, his two oldest sons, the Trump Organization, and several executives are accused of a years-long fraud scheme.

Initially, Ivanka was also named as a defendant in the fraud case but in June, a higher court removed her name on the grounds that she had severed her connections to the Trump Organization at the time of the fraud.

During her testimony, she was evasive in her responses, often declaring, "I don't recall," in response to questions regarding emails and documents surrounding the allegedly fraudulent business deals under scrutiny from New York’s attorney general.

What did Jimmy Kimmel say about Ivanka Trump?

On Wednesday, November 08, Ivanka traveled to New York from Florida for her day in court, with Kimmel joking that she arrived with “a serious blowout.”

“It’s like she’s set to shoot a commercial for Pantene or something. If you want to stay in the will, you have to look good,” the 55-year-old comedian quipped during the Wednesday episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

“That’s the rule. Only in the Trump family does take your daughter to work day mean she’s forced to testify in court,” he added to laughter, as per Independent.

On the stand, Ivanka was grilled for roughly four hours regarding fraudulent papers that were purportedly used to obtain favorable loans for the family's properties that were establishing their reputation.

“I’m not involved with his personal financial statements,” she told the court, adding “I didn’t know about his personal statements, per se, other than what you showed me.”

"Not that I'm aware of," she said when asked whether she had "any role" in the planning of Trump's financial status declarations. She also said she does not recall providing any valuations for her father’s assets or reviewing any of those statements before they were finalized.

Kimmel didn’t seem surprised by Ivanka’s weak memory as he said “On the stand, Ivanka repeatedly answered ‘I don’t recall,’ ‘I don’t recall,’ ‘I don’t recall.’”

“Which is a phrase she picked up from her father whenever Eric asked when his birthday was,” he mocked.
