NBA rumors: Nuclear team is interested in Draymond Green

Draymond Green free agent rumors have focused on the Lakers and Warriors. Now a fascinating new option has joined the mix.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Memphis Grizzlies are interested in signing Draymond Green. This is a situation that the Warriors would need to help with. Green would need to do a sign-and-trade with the Warriors that sends him to Memphis in order for the Grizzlies to make the cap space available.

The Warriors would need to help facilitate a deal with a Western Conference playoff team but it would make sense due to the fact that they would get some assets in return. If the Warriors are able to offer a three-max deal, then Draymond Green should come back. Still, if another team were to offer a five-year max, it might be something that Green will need to consider.

Why would the Grizzlies want Draymond Green?

If Memphis was looking for a new locker-room leader, Green might be a great fit. Yes, he does have a lot of bad antics but it might be good to put him on a team that does not have a real locker-room presence. This is a team that should be competing for titles but rather they are facing an identity crisis with their best player often getting himself into controversy.

Green has gotten himself into plenty of messes as well but he could be a good influence on Ja Morant and he'd give the Grizzlies something extra at both ends. It would also be hilariously ironic to have him replace Dillon Brooks.
